Need some community insight on a bizarre return request. I sold a sealed Pokémon TCG Miraidon tin and listed its condition accurately as "Good."
The buyer held onto the item for a full 3 days before opening a return for "Damaged." They are complaining about minor paper discoloration on the back and some "brown substance" on the wrap. I inspected this item closely before mailing it and did not see anything on the tin when shipped—it was completely clean when it left my hands.
It honestly feels like they are looking for a reason to return it, or they expected a flawless, gem-mint item for a listing explicitly marked as "Good" condition. I am completely done and will not be selling on Mercari ever again after dealing with this headache, but I want to know your thoughts.
Has anyone else experienced a buyer holding onto a sealed item until the last minute just to file claim like this? Do you think Mercari will actually approve this?
