Any other cemetery employees on call?

At my current cemetery (which is a combo location), I get handed pricing calls at any hour when I am assigned to phone duty, but that wasn't made clear to me when I interviewed for this role or was trained for it. There has been zero communication about expectations regarding taking pricing calls on off hours and whether we need to take our laptops home to have all price info handy or if it's okay to take down their name and number and call them back the next day. All I've been told is that I'm supposed to pick up the phone, and that didn't even come from my manager. I'm not sure my immediate manager is even aware that we are being sent these calls from our answering service after hours.

I ask because at my previous cemetery/FH combo, no cemetery employees were on call. You either were at work or you weren't, only FDs/removal crew were on call. Since my sample size is only 2, I'm not sure which is the outlier here.

So, other cemetery employees (or FDs and admins at combo locations), are you ever on call, and what is expected of you if you are?

My drugstore algae 🦠

I told myself that I wasn't going to buy a polish for this trend, but I saw this at Target and couldn't resist. Good thing I love prugly greens.

Hybrid Online Law Schools with estate planning coursework??

Hi all,

I currently work in the funeral industry helping people pre-plan their cemetery and funeral arrangements. I like what I do and am interested in pursuing it at a higher level, and am considering applying to law schools. Since I have to provide for myself and I'm in no hurry to leave my current job, I really want to go part time (at least to start). I did a diagnostic LSAT PT at 161 and my college GPA was 3.9something. I don't doubt that I can get a good offer to a school if I study pretty hard for the actual LSAT test.

The thing I'm wondering is if any of y'all know of a part time online program that offers extra curriculars for probate/trusts/estates. After poking around on a few school websites, it looks like most Flex JD programs have only a few concentration areas and not much coursework that's remote to pick from outside of those few tracks. Are there programs that offer more flexibility?
