1961 U.S News & World Report magazine that belonged to General Lemnitzer

A truly insane piece of history this is. (Summary of Lemnitzer): General Lemnziter was the top military officer of the entire U.S military when this he got this magazine. He was also the top military advisor for the Bay of the Pigs invasion of Cuba later that year. Him and JFK grew cold as Lemnitzer wanted to keep pushing to invade Cuba and JFK did not. He proposed Operation Northwoods which was a plan to fake terrorist attacks and blame Cuba. He also proposed the “SIOP-62” briefing which was a giant nuclear strike plan against the Soviet Union which would have led to hundreds and millions of deaths. JFK was disgusted by his ideas and later sent him to Europe to be the Supreme Allied Commander of Europe in 1963 which was the main head of NATO Europe. Lemnitzer stayed head of SACEUR until 1969. It is truly crazy how this magazine about the future of Cuba was owned by the man who had many plans for Cuba. This was a $1 flea market find.

1943 Coca Cola “Know Your War Planes” plane spotter book

Never knew Coca Cola made such thing until I found this today at a flea market for $1. Very cool book to help show and learn the different silhouettes of planes during the war. Also has very beautiful artwork

Did this magazine actually belong to General L L Lemnitzer??

Bought this for $1 at a flea market cause I thought it was a nice magazine, only to realize the mailing address was to Gen Lemnitzer in Fort Myers, Arlington VA. Is this actually legit??? Insane if so

Original brand new Misha plush from the highly controversial 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics

Found this today at a yardsale for $5, made by R. Dakin & Company from Korea in 1979. Original tag with zero creases on it. Very cool piece of Cold War history

Realistic 1950’s era U.S military bunker

Last 2 pictures is the bunker entrance/ lobby. Built in the vault utility shelter

The War Corner

Half war, half 1950s americana diner, both themes work surprisingly very well together. Keep it mixed combined so it doesn’t feel totally like a dreary war bunker

1919 Stars and Stripes military newspaper

Vintage 1950’s Seeburg “Wall-O-Matic” jukebox selector

These would be at the end of tables against the walls in vintage diners. They wouldn’t play music but would just be a selector for the main jukebox so the people wouldn’t have to get up to the main jukebox. This one still has lots of the music tabs, lots of Elvis Presley and even Christmas songs. Original numbers matching key too for the coin bank. Really love all the flashy chrome on it.

Got a M40 beaded and M38 gladiator for $240 for both

Gladiator is post war repainted with no original paint underneath, don’t know what “02/11” represents on it, no liner. M40 is in pretty decent shape with original paint, decal has tarnished off, and liner band is still there.

Cool limited edition U.S 250th 6 pack

Normal am not a fan of the newer Coca Cola novelty bottles (like NASCAR) but these are cool. 3rd pic is a 70 year comparison of a unopened 1956 bottle.

$30 WWII front seam U.S M1 helmet find

No liner and mangled chinstraps (not wwii ones). Looks to have been repainted a few times possibly. You can still see the war era factory cork finish underneath still. Has peace signs etched in the front and back of the helmet and doesn’t look freshly done so very well possibly Vietnam Era graffiti. Can’t see a visible heat stamp

Spanish Civil War issued Czechoslovakian VZ.30 helmet

Czechoslovakia sold most of their stock of these helmets to Spain during the Civil War. Czechoslovakia never used these for their military really and they never entered major full scale production. Most of the remaining VZ.30 are all Spanish Civil War veterans. This one still has its factory Czech paint underneath the Spanish repaint with a clip on the front added by the Spanish for a Franco badge. These are very underrated helmets in my opinion

1936 German GM30 Gas Mask

Pre war GM30. Filter is not original to the mask, but more than likely German industrial/civil from the same era. Last picture is with the later model, the GM38. $85 find

Rarer original grey Spanish M26

Original grey painted M26 helmet. I’ve heard most of these were repainted green by the Spanish military and not that many made it out grey compared to green. This one still has the original factory chinstrap and liner only has one pad left. Interestingly, has a Franco eagle added on the front yet it didn’t get repainted. Found it for $40

Found a Japanese Type 90 for $50

Finally found one for a reasonable price. Is it a night raid variant? Also some writing on the inner brim

1936 GM30

Finally found a nice one for a good price with its canister, filter, and spare lenses even for $85. Rubber is still very supple and nice. Last pic is with a GM38
