I’d like to apologize for interrupting your evening with my “that’s enough” comment towards your 6ish(?) month old daughters screech. It was out of line, and uncalled for. Babies will be babies, and in the moment, I failed to remember that. I do sincerely regret my approach and involving your young baby at all, and have learned from it, and will not make the same mistake again.

What I really should have said was…

I’ve had enough of listening to the other 3 girls (aged 4-6ish) play patty cakes, bounce (barefoot? really? in a restaurant?) on the other moms lap while screeching, only to turn around and see the mom tickling her to encourage it further. I have had enough of watching your older daughter rub her hands on a stranger's 6 month old baby (did you really not see how uneasy that family was about that?). I have had enough of ALL of the screeching from your table - I truly couldn’t decipher which one of the kids it was when I reacted.

I did appreciate the other family taking the 3 oldest girls away when things started to get a little heated. I can only imagine how much more enjoyable everyone's night would have been if they had been taken outside for even just a brief period during the dinner.

I also appreciated when you got up out of your seat and approached my booth from behind to…… what, touch me? Hit me? Risk assault charges over loud, untrained children? Your unwarranted aggression only validated my pre-formed thoughts on your entire table when you chose to intimidate instead of just encouraging your kids to shut the f*ck up and sit down.

All that said, I do not apologize for responding with “So can your baby” when you told me “you can shut your mouth”. I’ve always been one for one last low blow, and that one seemed to really hit.

Just wanted to get that off my chest.
