Left my driving lesson in tears

So, for context so far I've had 28hrs of driving lessons and my test is mid November. Today I was learning how to parellel park and started to go through a test route. So the lesson was just learning how to do parellel parking and being a bit more independent with my driving as my instructor says I'm always waiting for her to tell me what to do (which is true). She always says I need to work on my planning and preperating and do more mirrors/indicating work.

Today at the end of the lesson, she said that there are a lot of gaps in my driving and she feels as if I've somehow regressed these past few lessons but shes not sure if its because it's started to get dark quicker and I'm now driving in the dark which I'm completely new to or if her methods are not working for me anymore. She said for example I'm not turning into smaller roads properly, not assessing the situation beforehand, I'm waiting for her to tell me what to do ect and she also said she thinks I should reschedule my test date and hearing that just made me feel overwhelemd and I basically ended up crying right infront of her lol. Should I just do my test anyways and if I fail then so be it? I just want to completely give up at the moment

Unpaid trial day

My agency called me and asked me if I’d be interested in a trial day at a local school working with EYFS. I have previously worked with EYFS in the past and loved it so I did accept. However when she sent me the confirmation email I saw that it’d be a whole day unpaid. I then messaged her and basically said that I completely understand if it’s a short trial for part of the day, but it doesn’t sit well with me about doing the full school day unpaid esp since the agency is charging the school for having me.

She replied and said that all trial days are unpaid and for a whole day and the school will let the agency know same day if they want me or not so the following day I will start work and get paid. She also said the school sees it as an interview so I can’t get paid for it.

I have agreed to this but just wondering is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Nervous to be a TA

So I’ve been working at primary schools for a year now with an agency. I’ve been quite lucky to have stayed at the same school for majority of the year working in EYFS. As the new academic year approaches, I am constantly applying for TA roles anywhere I see. Obviously most, if not all roles, are to work with SEN children which is absolutely fine and I love to work with SEN children. Most of the SEN children I’ve worked with has been a pleasure to help teach and learn and grow. However, my agency once called me up to work in a local school. The children I worked with that day were non-verbal children in the nurture room. I really struggled that day because I’m a young adult and do not have experience in this specific field. They deserve someone who truly understands and has all the right qualifications and whatnot. I only worked with them for a day but I just felt so overwhelmed, however thankfully I was surrounded by the loveliest TA’s who helped me and stepped in most of the time.

My point is as the new academic year approaches, I’m worried that I’d have to work with certain SEN children that I am not capable of working with. When I apply for jobs online and hear back from them, can I ask about the specific child I’m working with and what their needs are?

Does anyone have any advice for me or has anyone felt the same way before?

Route to becoming a primary teacher

Hi,

My long term goal is to become a primary school teacher. I’m thinking of doing a ‘L4&5 Education and Training’ qualification which I’m going to pay for myself. This qualification is worth 240 credits and the equivalent of a foundation degree. After that I’m looking to do the Early years top up degree at OU to get a full undergraduate degree. Then I’ll do my PGCE+QTS together.

I was wondering if I take this route, is it really seen as me having an undergraduate degree. Will I come across any problems such as schools not taking me because I didn’t go through the traditional 3 year uni route?

Thank you for any help and guidance you can give

[Routine help]

Hi,

For context, I’m 20F and I started to get acne around 2 years ago.

I occasionally get spots which are deep under the skin and never come to the surface. These usually take maybe 2 weeks to go and once they go they leave a dark mark on my skin.

My skin is quite dull with dark marks and red marks on it. I don't really have a skincare routine. It's just:

  1. wash my face with water only
  2. let it air dry and then use Cerave moisturiser
  3. Corsx sunscreen

Recently I bought the acnecide face wash and have started to use that as a facewash occasionally. I also do have back acne and chest acne which I have had for many, many years which have left dark marks all over my back so I'm trying to also get rid of that.

I would be veryyyy grateful for any advice.

How to improve my skin?

I’m a 20F and I’m new to skincare. (Scribbled out face for anonymity reasons) Around two years ago I started to develop mild acne. Is this normal?

I have just changed to my 5/14 tray now and will be wearing this for 7 days as I have done with my other aligners. I put it on and I feel so pain or discomfort which is surprising as I always feel pain&discomfort with my other aligners and it subsides after a few days. Is this normal?

I have also noticed on the left upper side of my teeth, there is one specific tooth which the aligner does not fit on. If I push it up quite hard and press it against my tooth it then fits but goes back to how it is in the picture once I let go.

Will it fit properly as the days go by or shall I contact the company?

How to occupy myself in the summer holiday?

For context I’m 20F. I work as a TA in a primary school with an agency and I don’t have anything to do now that summer has started. I’m not allowed to go out so I would prefer any indoor hobbies. (don’t say I’m over 18 I can do what I want because thats is not how it works in my household lol)

I’m currently just bedrotting and have been scrolling on social media these past few days so today I have decided to deactivate my socials. However I’m just so bored!!

I’m learning how to drive so I guess thats going to occupy me for two hours once a week. I’m looking into buying some paint and small square canvases so I can do mini arts and also want to buy some crocheting stuff.

What do you do to occupy yourself during the summer holidays
?
