Is there a gold standard infinite series for Pi?

Expressions for Pi are often stated as being accurate up to n places. For example, 22/7 is stated as being accurate up to 2 places. So is there some gold standard expression, like an infinte series, against which other expressions are tested for accuracy. Since Pi is transcendental how do people know that this gold standard is most accurate?

Sorry to say that the earth is round

Yes, I did my own research and looked up 100s of sources on the internet and am convinced the earth is round. But you will ask, if so, how do people in Australia not fall off into the abysss? Do they stick to the underside of the earth by scrunching their toes? Well, some do that, but they dont have to. I asked some Australian guys on email and they told me a remarkable fact. Australians have this gene which causes the soles of their feet to have tiny sucker cups that attach to the ground in Australia preventing them from falling off. Ok, but does that mean all Australians are barefoot all the time? Another great question. Back in 1819 the Givernment there passed a law saying that all footwear, sandals, boots, dress shoes, beach flip-flops, high-heels, must be manufactured with this suction cup design. Hope this info clears up your doubts. If you are interested I have some samples of Australian shoes that I am willing to sell for $89.99 a pair, i have some Wide sizes also. Oh, thats US$.

2017 BEV. Air conditioner shuts off after few minutes when car stationary

Hello all

In my 2017 BMW I3 BEV I noticed that if I turn on the A/C while the car is not moving the A/C turns off after about 10 minutes. Is this normal behavior?

thanks

Very confused about transcendental numbers, please help

Definition says that aTN is not the root of any non zero polynomial with integer coeffs. We know pi is a TN. But (x -pi)^2 is a non zero polynomial with integer coeff and its root is pi.

What am I missing?

Thanks
