Finding a monastery

I wonder how hard is it to get accepted in a monastery of a HH type.

Atm I keep 5precepts+celibacy, but I am early on celibacy and who knows how long it's gonna take before I can feel distance from lust

Since I got this far I see more and more that wordly environment would not be suitable even if I was successful in getting everything I want I would still have to deal with the unwholesome one way or the other. Monastic life appears highly privileged opposed to that

Is it hard to get accepted in a monastery for future ordination? Are monasteries looking for new people, is the process very hard, etc? I am 30yo male

Intentions

So I did as Ajahn said for a while now and my intentions are "to feel pleasant, to avoid suffering, to diminish suffering, to avoid pain, to get rid of pain, wait for the unpleasant feeling to go away... and so on"

So I wonder "is being aware of these and not acting on them all that matters?"

Journaling about feelings and peripheral awareness

I have a question of whether it is a good practice or not to journal about my experience either by writing or mentally assessing the experience

As example : something like "is there a feeling? is it pleasant or unpleasant?" then noticing how these qualities of the feeling appear, noticing pressures, discomforts, intentions, anything that could be unseen

I find it helpful and without it I would remain in a dysfunctional state for days, but as far as I understand such practice is wrong?

All is 5 aggregates

A question about the experience and Ajahn saying "anything that can manifest is the 5 aggregates"

Does this statement also imply that some links in the Dependent Origination are all sankharas?

What I mean is all of the superstructure on top of the feeling is made out of sankharas?

Hearing voices

I hear voices of people even when there are no people which makes life a bit confusing

I wonder if this is related to the distance between me and the mind or it's something else

The soul and rebirth

I wanted to share some thoughts I came up with.

When people look at a video camera and see how it records, they understand that it is a piece of technology whose components, assembled in a particular way, produce what seems like an almost magical effect: an image. Yet this appears completely normal, and nobody ever asks, "Where is the soul in the camera?", because there is no need for it

Following this line of thought and applying the same principle to human experience, I don't see any contradiction in explaining where experience originates from or what gives rise to it. What does seem unsettling, however, is the question: "Why this particular person? Why not someone else, an alien, or an animal?" It doesn't really matter who or what the organism is. What seems significant is that experience is unique. That uniqueness appears to resemble a "soul"—not as an object or entity, but as the unique perspective of a particular stream of experience.

So my questions is: "Did the Buddha offer any answers to this question?"

Another thought I had is related to sleep. When you go to sleep, everything you have done—especially that day—carries over into tomorrow. The consequences of your actions remain. This seems to point to an obvious continuity in which good and bad deeds produce results, although it does not by itself point to rebirth in a future life. Though tomorrow might as well b a future life

What also seems important is the role of belief itself and how it shapes the way a person understands reality.

For example, someone might think: "If there are no consequences for good or bad deeds, then what I did today doesn't matter. I am not responsible for it, and tomorrow I will simply find myself a victim of this mass of suffering without any understanding of where it came from."

It's clear that such a view is not very beneficial

What seems to be clear is that nobody actually knows what happens in death until they die. It's like nobody knows what happens in the sleep until they start dreaming or wake up

No stream = nothing to experience. The camera is switched off forever = no image

Either way I firmly believe that what I said doesn't contradict the teaching of the Buddha in any way

Lack of Energy

I have a question to people who may have dealt with this.

Basically I noticed that when I have a job I burn out, it's too much. I don't have energy for anything else. I wonder whether it's possible to get some more energy even when working a physically demanding job with a lot of activity, elements, people, restraint and all that heavy stuff

I recently watched a video that as subject told a story about a man full of dreams that had a plan of pursuing his dream when free of work, but later that man realised he has no energy to pursue anything and his dreams die. Very sad story
