Constant Tinnitus - GP said ears are okay?

Slightly confused my GP said that my ears are okay.

Currently been dealing with Tinnitus since March got my ears checked multiple times and GP said they are okay. I went and bought a camera from Amazon just to see what they see.

My personal opinion it doesn't look normal. These are just the left ear.

Fluctuating tinnitus + confirmed hearing loss from Audiology — anyone had it fully resolve?

35M (not that it matters much), UK, NHS + private route in parallel. Long-ish but trying to be specific rather than vague, since I know that gets better responses here.

Timeline:

  • Symptoms started ~March 2026: fullness/pressure in both ears, fluctuating tinnitus
  • Tinnitus quality: electric/buzzing, rhythmic — swells from low to loud to low rather than a constant tone. Slightly louder on the left, sometimes alternates sides rather than being simultaneous
  • Treated with nasal steroids: Mometasone for ~8 weeks, 2-week break, then Avamys for 4 weeks — Avamys noticeably worked better than Mometasone for symptom relief
  • Restarted Avamys at what I was told was a reduced dose, symptoms crept back
  • Audiology appointment (Aug 2026): confirmed partial hearing loss in both ears, worse on the right. Tympanometry also abnormal, consistent with ETD affecting the middle ear
  • Interesting mismatch: my perceived tinnitus is louder on the left, but the measured hearing loss is worse on the right. Audiologist couldn't fully explain the tinnitus itself — said some people are just prone to it and it may resolve or become something to manage long-term
  • Hearing aids were recommended (apparently can help mask/manage tinnitus) but I'm skeptical since I don't function badly in daily life — leaning toward declining unless ENT thinks otherwise
  • Had a very similar episode in 2019-2020 (bilateral, thoroughly investigated — MRI, vestibular testing, all clear) that fully resolved on its own within months. Trying to hold onto that as a good sign this time too
  • ENT referral in progress (NHS wait is long, ~6 months, also pursuing privately)

What I'm actually asking: has anyone had ETD-related tinnitus like this — fluctuating, buzzing, side-switching — actually resolve, either on its own or with treatment? And did anyone else notice a mismatch between which ear the tinnitus feels louder in versus which ear tested worse on audiology? Trying to figure out if that's a meaningful clue or just how the brain processes it.

Not looking for diagnosis, just curious if this pattern is familiar to anyone who's been through it.

EquityGo - PCP car finance & mileage tracker - need a few more testers, happy to test back!

Hey everyone!

I'm building EquityGo - an app for anyone on a PCP car finance deal in the UK. It tracks your contract, mileage vs. allowance, and settlement/equity figures, so you always know exactly where you stand and what your options are at hand-back (settle, part-exchange, or hand it back) and more.

You can try it with sample data straight away, no account needed just tap "Try a live demo" on the first screen.

It's in closed testing on Google Play and I need a few more people to hit Google's minimum tester requirement before I can move toward production. Would really appreciate the help, and happy to test yours back just drop your links in the comments.

Feedback and suggestion are appreciated.

Wind noise after windscreen replacement (National Windscreens) — is this normal, Model Y owners?

Had a stone chip crack develop into a bigger issue, so I had my Model Y's front windscreen replaced by National Windscreens on 10th July.

Within about an hour of the job being finished I noticed noticeably louder wind noise at motorway speed compared to before when going home. Went back to the branch the same day, roughly 50 minutes later, and was told this was normal — the adhesive was still curing and to give it until Wednesday.

It's now been a full week and the wind noise is still there at motorway speeds, no improvement.

It's a whistling/whooshing sound that kicks in from around 50-60mph and gets more noticeable the faster I go. Doesn't sound like it's coming from one specific spot, more general around the top of the screen/A-pillar area.

Before I go back to them or escalate to a formal complaint, wanted to check with other Model Y owners here: is some wind noise increase after a screen replacement actually normal/expected, or does this sound like a fitting issue (seal, trim, wrong glass spec, etc.)?

Anyone had similar experience with National Windscreens or another fitter?

Appreciate any input before I take this further

EquityGo — free PCP finance tracker for UK drivers

EquityGo is a free tool for UK drivers on PCP car finance deals. It tracks your mileage allowance, your Voluntary Termination progress under Section 99, and your equity/settlement position, all in one place.

I built it because I couldn't find anything that pulled all of this together. PCP deals are confusing and most people have no idea where they actually stand until it's too late to do anything about it.

It's currently in free beta. No subscription yet but I'm planning to keep core features free and eventually add paid extras for power users.

Questions for the community: would you trust a tool like this with your finance details if it didn't ask for anything beyond what's needed to do the calculations? And does a "free forever, paid extras later" model feel fair for something like this, or would you rather see it freemium from day one?
