New rack!

Thanks to this sub for all the tips on building my own rack. Worked out perfectly. I added a couple of couple of modifications for stability. A stop on the bottom along the side and back of the center cinder block help hold the 2x4 in place.

I got fed up with running out of wood every winter as one rick just isn’t enough. Luckily, we don’t rely on wood for heat. It’s just for our fireplace, but I like to have one just about every night in the winter.

So built the rack on the right. Those dimensions equal a rick almost exactly, and then the store bought rack is obviously a rick. I’d like one more to really be able to stay ahead of the seasoning, so maybe this fall I’ll take that on.

The wood in the tall rack is all what I salvaged off the side of the road after the ice storm down here. A random mix of red oak, red maple, hackberry, magnolia, and lacebark elm. On the left is almost all red maple from a tree that my best friend lost in his yard. Hoping I can let most of that sit for a good 2 years before burning. But we’ll see.

Thanks to all for the help.

Advice on Airport Transportation during Telluride Bluegrass Festival

My son has a free ticket to the festival if he can get there. He's coming from Sun Valley. I think I can get him to Grand Junction and back for a reasonable price. And it looks like the Bustang-Outrider Shuttle will be able to get him to Telluride for $11.

Unfortunately, the timing of the Bustang-Outrider Shuttle on the return doesn't work.

Does anyone know of other transportation options? Other shuttles? The "Telluride Express" was recommended, but when I called, they said there were no shared shuttles, only private and the cost was $750. That's not going to work.

I would have thought there would be a lot of different shuttles going back and forth to all the various airports during the Festival, but I haven't been able to find any. Feel like I'm not looking in the right place. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do Yanks care more about Holmes than Brits?

Following on my post about podcasts. When have tuned into the various podcasts about Holmes, I think the hosts have always been American. I’ve been surprised that I haven’t found a good British based podcast.

It just made me wonder if Americans are more into the world of Sherlock than the Brits.

Any thoughts on this?

Holmes Podcasts Recommmendations

I’m looking for a good podcast that really dives deep into the world of Sherlock Holmes.

I had found several for Lord of the Rings. I thought there would be a lot for Holmes, but I’ve been unimpressed. They seem to be either readings of the work or only loosely connected.

I’ve checked out the Jeremy Brett Holmes podcast. Trifles. And I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere.

What else is out there?
