Say hello to JJ and Milo! They did something super weird this past week

The other day during playtime, JJ managed to smoosh himself into a hole in the wall and go adventuring into Forbidden Plumbing Land. I put Milo back in their cage and, after an annoyingly long while crinkling treat bags, scooped JJ back up and sent him to his room to be grounded.

But then JJ and Milo…fought for some reason? For THREE DAYS. They stayed on different levels of the cage, would snarl at each other and me whenever they saw the other, JJ was upset and stayed in his little castle to keep an eye out for Milo, and they would size each other up and chase one another a little if they were on the same level. Fur slip floofs everywhere.

It got to the point where I had to give Milo a little food dish of his own because I was afraid that JJ wasn’t going to let him eat!

But then Monday rolls around and I come home from doing laundry and it’s like nothing ever happened. They’re back to taking turns on their wheel and eating out of my hand together and acting like nothing was ever wrong. There wasn’t even a cooling down period; they were just best buds again.

Has anyone ever seen behavior like this? I’ve heard that bonds can break but I assume that 20 minutes apart wouldn’t cause it. They literally just had a theee day lover’s spat and then made up. Wtf guys.
