Hey everyone
We've had a really great response to our DENIMHEAD app, and I wanted to thank everyone again for their support.
As mentioned, we want the community to shape it so that it's truly adding value, and that brings me to my question today.
Here's the debate:
The app tracks "wears per wash" - total wears between washes, so you have a sense of when a pair is actually due for a wash. (A member suggested we use that to fire off a wash reminder once you hit your average, which we're building for a later release.)
Trouble is, it currently counts every water event as a wash: machine, hand, a cold soak, an ocean dip, even getting caught in the rain. They all knock your number down the same.
A user flagged it after a rain soak tanked his ratio: "I haven't actually washed these." He's got a point. Plenty of us don't put a soak in the same bucket as a detergent wash, but plenty of you absolutely do. No universal answer, which is exactly why I'm asking.
So, in your opinion:
Curious how you all think about it. we're leaning towards:
Looking forward to your thoughts.
My absolute favourite selvedge jacket. Eternal 886. Cannot recommend this jacket enough. So inky - almost black when new.
Beaten hard for 590 wears. 9 washes.
Bought this baby in Tokyo from a store in a market down the road from Hinoya.

Bought these many years ago. Love the 101 range and especially their LHT fabric - great for summer.
Worn hard for 526 days. 9 washes.
Fabric:
101Z Lot 49 - Woven in Japan on premium narrow loom selvedge. 13.75oz Left Hand Twill, dyed with 13 indigo dips for depth and long-term fade character. Original blue single-line selvedge, tighter weave for a softer hand, and crafted on traditional shuttle looms running at a slow 100 meters per 24 hours.
A signature Lee fabric - compact, balanced, and built the heritage way.

Personal Sashiko project of mine.
Edwin Type II Left Hand Twill Raw Denim Jacket - Indigo.
342 wears. 3 washes.
This was a short run using this fabric. They also made all their classic fits in the same fabric but I don't believe they sell these anymore.
