What SDS Origins looks like as a new player

I’ve made multiple accounts at this point and have decided to once again (for some reason) make an account to p10 Derieri because I like punching things. I think it’s the best time to start tho. Here is everything I’ve noticed about starting SDS Origins at this time:

  1. They revamped progression at earlier gameplay to make it a lot smoother to becoming strong, but there’s still the downside of you having no mf premium pulls. I got a bit of a checklist for how I level accounts now so I definitely think ahead, but there’s still budget is tightttttt twinnn. We get most of our pulls as vets from events and developer mistakes, and that’s kinda sad. For a new player, I think you should just have fun. I’m hoping you came in when a character you wanted is already on banner so you’re just enjoying that.

  2. Corrupted Dragon is the worst boss to fight. These immunity phases make his fight way longer than it needs to be, and it didn’t need to get added in. Outside of that, there’s enough community matchmaking to not be hard locked anymore.

  3. You can’t do pledges for raid. I got folks that I can get to carry me for the week but it is literally impossible to do Taranis raid on 3 pledge with the base roster which makes me think about how and why it could even be designed that way. Yknow how Escanor is an account pull, Merlin should also be an account banner I’m ngl. She is essential.

  4. They’ve done a REALLY god job at smoothing out grinding from early game. The hero tokens in tier 3, I’m sure you’re key starved but most things don’t require keys now so you can do a lot. There was a really weird bug last week that just stopped me from getting past tutorial but that’s gone now. And you get some free to make outfits.

  5. Story is short. I’ve only paid attention on my main account but I noticed the lack of unskippable higher quality cutscenes kinda drops the story a bit. I like skipping through normal stuff but if you ever notice in this game, the higher quality cutscenes are just super short and not acted the best. WUWA Chapter 1 made me stand up, get hype, and brought me to tears all in one sitting. We need some serious story changes.

  6. New players definitely can’t really engage with the expedition system. All the free potions we got doing nothing as vets, they don’t have in the same way so they don’t have pets in the same way. Not the biggest difference but you need max level work bench to start making weapons and it’s weird to farm those materials to upgrade it to a level that didn’t even exist when the game first came out.

I’m ngl this game is about to be Whale Island

Look, most gacha games, the difference between no potentials and max potentials is about 3-4x dps damage, with most units feeling good at all levels of play.

This game is not like that at ALL. Not only do these new characters have content geared towards them, but max potentials is like 5x the DPS and there are key components of their kit that are just locked behind potentials.

Clotho barely has her ice damage buff until p7. You get hit and it’s gone. Merlin needs p6 to spam on lightning (which is honestly not even the worst one). Gowther is just useless till p6 unless you’re using staff with Merlin. His book debuffs don’t do as much and you don’t have any magic regen on purpose because you need his dupes.

Liz is great, we love Liz. But she got no business buffing attack at p10.

Now we come to Deri, which is why I made this post. Deri is…unfortunate. She does not have f2p teams, sorry. Not only do you need dupes to get some real damage from her ult but you need the other characters that dropped to even make her work, so forget being f2p, if you’re f2p and you didn’t have this game since the beginning, you might be cooked for 3 months.

No one likes the trend of the new content catering to new characters but now I can’t even use em as soon as I pull em wtf.

We Need These Character Types in the game now

  1. Wind healer

  2. Fire debuffer supporter

  3. Physical super dot dealer for greatsword Escanor to team with.

  4. More Dark DPS ofc but also dark buffers.

  5. Premium Holy DPS/Universal burster to make it relevant again.

  6. Earth DPS that’s not a bis support for everyone lmao

  7. Lightning healer. We need lifesteal atp.

Spider Nest tips part 2

  1. Don’t die to the final boss. According to some people, this mf spider gets a stacking buff when she puts up the shield, and that does NOT dissapear when you die. My first run on Spider took 22 minutes and I genuinely thought this was the hardest boss in the game for no reason. I just simply died once and could not get my mojo back.

  2. Doesn’t seem like magic charging efficiency debuff applies to tag skills. What I noticed when doing my rotation is that I got almost no charge from the skills I throw, but my rotation wasn’t that bad actually. Did a test run with 3 pledge and my time was the same. It’s kinda weird.

  3. The torches in the map are used to LOCATE BOSSES. I don’t use them, because I’ll just reset if I don’t see a boss in my normal pathing but with Merlin, you’re gonna have an easier time with finding them.

  4. Just ult through the nuke if you can’t break the cocoons. As long as you DONT DIE, life is good.

  5. Reminder that the set buffs elemental damage by 20% but at the cost of crit chance, crit defense, and other things as well. My final piece of advice to get that ring and get tf outta this dungeon bro😭

Some Gowther and Spider dungeon tips

Ran spider 3 times (technically 4) between my main account with Escanor and my Merlin account. Here’s what I noticed:

  1. The mobs around spider nest are there on purpose. To make you use grimoire Gowther. In addition, Grimoire Gowther and Wand Gowther are incomplete builds until p6 at least. You’ll see what I mean when you get there.

  2. Doesn’t seem like all bosses move around. Just the first one tends to be missable. I always find ore man in the ore spot and the boss before the final boss doesn’t seem to move. Could be like idk.

  3. Fire and Lightning (Red and Blue health) should be treated like Borderlands. Lightning damage shreds shields and fire damage shreds flesh.

  4. The shortcut wall from the original dungeon is still there. Use it and skip the parkour. If you’re speed running, there’s a boss spawn right behind it. If you don’t see a boss, just reset and run again.

I’m cooking more when I get the chance. I haven’t explored enough yet.

Just did new raid…Stick to Taranis bro

Forget off element content. I could barely do it with my strongest Merlin😂

I’m so glad they fixed combined ults so I can throw one on a fuckin egg.

I’m so glad they took away the most annoying boss in the game and brought her back with shields, and a poison that rips through your health with the most dot efficiency I have ever seen.

I’m so glad they gave every mini boss some mobs so that they can ruin your ability to do first strike, or any kind of rotation at all.

It’s not even a single one shot move. Everything this mf throws can one shot.

I’m so glad the rewards for this is a set bonus that almost exclusively benefits Gowther. And instead of giving you a chance chest for the new equipment, you get a selection chest for the old ones.

I can do Taranis in 8 minutes with this Merlin. It took me 22 minutes to do this new raid because I genuinely died to tick one time, and it went down hill from there.

UPDATE: Boss is bugged. It keeps buffs after you die. That’s why I was getting cooked

Gowther’s kit is…interesting.

It doesn’t really click why his burst and staff kits compete for the same thing. They both do res shred and increase lightning damage but It’s like, burst is secretly a DPS build for those who skipped Merlin🤦🏾‍♂️ staff just looks better lmao.

I’ve decided to make my main account maining SNS Escanor. Should I get p8?

He was already p7 before the re-roll. And I’ve been rolling Elizabeth on this account. 20 pulls away from the guaranteed and her p6 but I’m also 40 pulls away from a guaranteed banner character.

Should I get that p8? Or wait for Gowther and get him same day.

I feel like I need a calculator with how much of a damage difference I would be getting because I want to get the higher level greedy ruler set and my last run was like 16 minutes which is much too long for the 150 gear

Magic Pop is genuinely so annoying to load into

This game does not want me to beat Taranis today…

I just want to get these weekly’s done before the week is over and something happens every time. First time, he was around a similar health, and he clipped out the map, and fully reset his health outta nowhere, and I ended up timing out because I didn’t break enough pieces and had to restart the fight.

Second time, as the screenshot shows, the game has frozen. I’m just irritated bro…

Do people hire Thief Pawns? DD2

I remember a couple years ago I made a pawn of every class but I noticed the thief rarely got hired, and then I thought about what I hire when I go looking for pawns and I realize I also rarely hire the thief. Why is it this way? They were the second most popular class in the first game.

DLC Prep - Pawn for Hire! Steam (DD2)

I know a lot of us have started remaking our pawns that we overleveled so that we can be DLC ready. I’m currently working on an Archer Pawn that will be a useful carry for any team! There’s no modded gear on her and she will be leveled up as time goes on so feel free to add me as a friend.

Platform: PC
Pawn ID: WS905A1JKULL
Username: wiseone5454 (friend code 227176813)

PS: there may be some dead pawns of higher levels that you see from adding me as a friend. You can use them as you see fit but don’t send them anything useful lol.

Merlin is lowkey better than Meliodas

At P7 Merlin lightning right now, I can kill every boss in the game on Abyss difficulty, and this might be the only DPS character outside of Meli who can do that and not be a slog, BUT HER DAMAGE PHASE IS SO MUCH BETTER.

My biggest problem with Meli spam is that I have to get close, moving bosses force me to reset, and I can’t see anything so I’m going to get hit. None of that really applies to Merlin lightning since she can just keep spamming as long as she hits something. And it tracks far. Personally I think that she brings so many QOL changes to gameplay that I think she’s got a really good lifespan for different teams. Plus, 2 bar ult on DPS…

Junction Stage 3 is actually terrible

It’s already one thing that junctions are designed to support the new characters, but stage 3 might be the worst design of all time.

Been playing this for like 2 hours now, and I almost get a sub minute and a half run just for the final enemy to bug out and I instantly die to what I can only assume is poison? If I replace Howzer with Tioreh, I know I can beat the stage but it might not be 3 stars and this might be the only stage I’ve seen with genuine unavoidable damage. What kind of design is this???
