Hi all .... total noob so bear with please.
Just bought a brand new Neo 2 fly more kit from Curry's in the UK.
I've read about the UK regulation changes in Jan 2026 so was expecting this to have a UK class mark and it doesn't.
So what specifically do they mean about new drones placed on the uk market after Jan 2026 requiring one?
Is it brand new models of drone that need it, but "older" models like the Neo 2 don't?
Is it any drone on the UK market, as in new models and even new production runs of existing models like the Neo 2 made after Jan 2026?
Does this mean my drone was manufactured prior to Jan 2026 and a more recently built one would have a UK class mark?
Many thanks
Looking at mini boxes with this CPU to run ESXi 8 to replace some HP elite desk i5's
Is it compatible, compatible (allow unsupported hardware), or noooooooooo.
Thanks.
P.S. The boxes have RTL-8125 inbuilt 2.5 NICs which I want to use too.
Hi
Considering buying a keychron keyboard and there are Amazon resale deals around. Does the keychron software identify what switches are installed on the keyboard?
Me with my untrusting head wants to ensure it has all the correct switches across all of the keyboard and someone hasn’t returned it after changing switches out etc. don’t really want to have to remove all the keycaps to check.
Thanks.
As above really....
I had an instance where a machine broke because "Use Tailscale DNS" was set and I didn't realise it was, and it broke after a change I made.
I had to gain access to the machine (was my parents machine) and change it on the client. Made me think it would be good if we could set this on or off by specifying devices/tags/hosts/IPs that it's set on for (and off for)
Then I thought about other settings like "Allow Local Network Access", "Use Tailscale Subnets" etc.
Would allow more central administration and better flexibility IMO
Example Below (A default value could be "Overridable" which means the client setting can be changed on the client and not enforced)
"ClientSettings": [
{
"target": ["autogroup:member"],
"setting": ["Use Tailscale DNS"],
"value": ["False"],
},
{
"target": ["MyHost"],
"setting": ["Allow Local Network Access"],
"value": ["True"],
},
],
I'm sure there's some security reason for it, but why can we not just use a machines "machine name" in ACLs?
Yes, you can create a "Host" with a name/IP pair and use that, and I can see why that might be useful, but if my machine is called "MyServer" in my TailNet, why can't I just use that in the ACL without having to do anything else.
I have a single user, which is my user and the owner of my TailNet.
All the devices I've added are configured with that user, manually authenticated or using an auth key generated by that user.
I want to use a lower-level user that's a member only. Obviously a member cannot access the admin portal so cannot create an auth key that is "owned" by that user.
Can I create a user, make it admin, create an auth key, then demote that user to a member? Will that affect anything if I use that auth key to authenticate devices when that user is just a member?
I don't like the idea of any device having anything relating to an owner account, so hence the question.
Thanks.
So, the free tier is now limited to 50 tagged devices and extra tagged devices will cost $1 a month (shocking TBH, another 10 for $1 could be stomached)
I use many tags but focussing on 3 in particular, "HomeNet", "Cloud", and "Untrusted"
If I gave devices currently tagged as "HomeNet" 100.123.10.x addresses, "Cloud" with 100.123.11.X, and "Untrusted" with 100.123.12.X addresses, could I use IPsets in grants as opposed to Tags?
So create 3 IPsets; "HomeNet", "Cloud", and "Untrusted" and add the respective IP range (100.123.10.0/24, 100.123.11.0/24, 100.123.12.0/24), and user those ipsets in grants.
Cheers
Hi
Not using vcentre…
I use USB NICS with the USB Fling, and as such I add my NICs to vSwitches via local.sh with esxcli commands (which I believe is the recognised approach)
However, the config in the ESXi UI is always different compared to the actual running config verified by CLI.
Is there a way to “sync” the configuration so that the UI reflects the actual running config?
I don’t execute esxcfg-vswitch -R at the end of local.sh as it seemed to really mess stuff up and I can’t find anything that explains what it actually does!
Any help appreciated.
I have 3x Back-UPS XS 1400U that I bought in Jan 2022. They have all had very minimal load and were all bought as they were on offer (£117 each) and to service different rooms in the house.
I had one fail with the alternating red/green flashing LED and continuous beep about 2 weeks ago and the other 2 failed at exactly the same time today with the same issue (one has no load for 4 months so v suspect/off)
All are reporting replace battery and a health of 80%. Is there a ways to still operate them despite this? they are only used to trigger shutdown via NUT etc so 80% health wasn't a problem a month ago and still isn't for my use.
Is there a magic "Yeah yeah I understand, just ignore it" option?
I have access to PowerChute SW
Thanks.
