Whats the protocol to revive gardens when the rain eventually comes?

In the process of purchasing a house with a garden should complete by October, however the house is not currently lived in. I assume like most places now the grass will all be dead along with anything without deep roots?

What is everyones plan for this winter? Will the grass come back by itself? Will you be making adjustments incase next year is also drought conditions?

Worth buying into STIHL battery platforms at the moment for home user?

I am researching all the garden tools I will need for my new garden (hedge trimmer, mower, strimmer, leaf blower) and I wonder if the stihl AK lineup is good, or if its nerfed as a 'home user' line and the AP stuff is so much more expensive?

I currently use dewalt powertools, but I think their garden tools are not the best, but this is making me really question buying into another battery platform, maybe I'm overthinking it but I dont want to be constantly waiting for batteries to charge, so I will have to buy a few, and I don't want to be fighting the tools if they are underpowered and unable to do a good job as fast as possible.

The consensus seems to be that for home use, battery is probably a better option now than petrol, but at least then you can choose the best tool for each job!

Keen to hear anyones thoughts! Thanks

Sounds good at home, not at band practice?

I have been really happy with my Katana 100 Gen3 at home, sounds great in 0.5 watt mode, and also very nice when I wear headphones which I often do...

I have now been practicing with some other people for 4 sessions now and I just cannot figure out where I am going wrong, initially I thought I could confidently just switch to 100 watt mode and it would blast, but that was far too loud & shrill.

I have since been using 50 watt mode. The master volume is very sensitive which is not the end of the world but it sounds so much thinner at practice with very little if any bass to speak of (possibly because the master is so low)?

Am I just expecting way too much from a single 1x12 in this situation? I feel like the speaker could absolutely push much more air if it wanted to but I would need to turn the mids and terrible basically off?

Surely I must be missing something as I thought the point of the power modes with a solid state amp was to give me quite a linear response across lots of different volumes?

Advice on FTTP install at house we are buying

Hi everyone, very keen to hear anyones exerpience on older houses with overhead cable installs?

The house we are buying does not have FTTP and Zen were the only company we spoke to who gave useful and sensible answers. They said we will definitely need openreach to install and it will be overhead cable as that is whats already there. I think the existing cable goes into the roof and down the inside, which presumably openreach would not do?

I have seen there is a virgin cable on the property, so there must be some method to go underground also...

I am worried that OR will just run the cable straight down the front of the house which would be very ugly? Is there anything I can do like prepare a route or will this just annoy the installer?

External inverter and battery installs looks terrible?

Hi all, as far as I have seen any external install has tons of wires, isolator switches and connections going this way and that? At the moment it looks like our only option is going to be an external side wall but its our driveway and faces the road so I'm really concerned it will look terrible?

Has anyone got any methods to make it look neat?

Edit: thanks for everyones comments! I have learned:

  1. Use a setup where its all together like sigenergy

  2. Get examples of the installers previous work

Keen to see more neat examples :)
