Finally a non-smoky day!

Did the fire stop? Or the wind? It's finally sunny and not smoky with no smoke smell. Man that was making me sick.

I need help from someone more familiar with the language and study of language

Hello,

I have been learning the Japanese language for 4 semesters in university. But I failed my past lvl because of tests (never been good at test...) and the summer break came a little before mid may. Now I am back in America since I was studying for a year in Japan. But I haven't studied or done anything since. I feel I forgot most of what I learned...I definitely can't just pick up where I left off. What should I do? I feel starting from the beginning will be too easy also. Hopefully someone here has gone through relearning or something and can give me advice. I am lost in my journey. I know I can do it, I just need some direction. Any advice, tips, or anything would be greatly appreciated!

This has to be the worst forest fire or whatever since I've been here.

Usually it lasts maybe one day, but this has been like a few days. And the smoke is giving me headaches.

Is it a forest fire?

On campus Post office Hours?

Is it typically closed on Friday? Went and no hours are posted and downstairs in the Post office it's dark and shut down.

Man it is a struggle being a student and living here.

Everyone is hiring until you ask to fill the position. Been searching for a month now. And I have had no success so far. Online applications, going around town in person, had some interviews but wasn't chosen. I swear there's nothing wrong with me. I am an able bodied, responsible man.

But this is difficult, it is affecting my well-being. I will starve and have problems if this goes on for much longer. Everyone said look for a job during the summer, and I have been. And many places are hiring but they are being too picky (for jobs that don't need to be) or I hand them a resume and it will disappear from existence. Literally had to get a guy to find mine and actually look at it.

I guess this could be a warning to future students. Flagstaff is a place people stay in, and there is not a lot of development. Considering it is a city...Anyway if you know anyone who will hire anyone for anything please let me know! As long as I can get there I can do anything.

Will there be anymore of The Magicians?

I was wondering if the popularity and this sub-reddit will there be more? I feel like there is potential for a remake that is more book accurate. Not that the show is bad but it cut out sooo much that made the characters better tbh. Also would like to see Quinton go full stress mode, white hair, and archer that wanders. Among other things.

Am I tripping?...

Flock cameras just showed up overnight, I didn't see them the other day during daylight. Maybe I could have missed them? But yeah they are here now.

Anyone near NAU that is hiring right now? Anything.

I got back from studying abroad a week ago. So I am broke. I am managing for now, but it is not permanent my resources. I will literally do any job, full time, part time, night shift, morning shift. I am not really picky. Only thing is I need to be able to get there. And I would like to work though the school year as well.

If you know any place or can put in a word I can really use some help. I am not lazy, I started looking for jobs on the second day here in America. Handshake doesn't have anything for me right now maybe closer to the school year.

Is there anyone on campus that likes DnD?

I am asking because I am a Dungeon master, though I have only a little experience (only been a dungeon master for 2 one shots). If I were to make a campaign would anyone be interested in playing in person? I have the software and such to play online but I am not to sure how to use that stuff yet. I think I can manage something online if I have to but realistically, in person is better right now.

Summer housing move in question

How strict is the move in time? It says I can start moving in at 3pm on my move on day but I am coming from abroad and would like to move in immediately. Can I go earlier? Say at like 10am?

Can someone tell me please which chapters of genki 2 NAU goes through for this lvl? I learned that chapters 20-23 are in JPN 303. I need to review for something so I just want to make sure I know what I need to remember.

Can someone update me?

Hello,

Been gone on study abroad for a year and I just wanted to know what went on at NAU? Any changes? How are things? Has Flagstaff experienced any changes or things going on? I always get reverse culture shock as I return to this third world country called America. I assume things as usual probably got more difficult for life itself?

Hello,

I have a situation where I am doing better outside of my college japanese language class, here in Japan. But for the love of god I cannot seem to pass their tests. And apparently I have one of the strict professors. I don't even think he is giving partial points when I have it mostly correct. To be fair I don't actually know but I think it's impossible for my scores to be that low, I am not that dumb and it's not like I am not studying. The irony of it all, I will likely have to retake it in America and it will be easier than here in Japan...!

I would say most of my problems come from not being able to retain vocab fast enough, but I switched to anki and such to help.

Sorry this is just a rant. No where else to rant to.
