r/ParentalControls is a hunting ground for adultists, watch out.

I've been a member on there advocating from YR and there will always be an adultist on there who disagrees with any minor freedom. That is NOT the place to ask for workarounds.

There would be absolutely no need for parental controls without teaching kids about the internet and its flaws and how to use it appropriately.

Seriously. It's almost as if the parent just goes "Heya son/daughter! You're getting spyware on your phone!" completely out of the blue. Completely avoidable if you teach your kids about stuff like preds, hackers, scams and whatnot. Tbh, the ONLY, and I mean ONLY controls that should be on a phone is screentime control, only exception for activity being for people who actually need it (disabilities), but ik that would be abused by control freaks, but hey, worth a shot.

I've seen many comments on here freely sharing every workaround, and I find this a bit risky, because there for sure are people on here who see the workarounds and send them to the PC companies, which leads to less ways to avoid parental stalking.

With that being said, I personally believe that it may be a wiser idea to send the tips through dms. This safely shares knowledge without the risk of it being patched. Of course, don't message weirdos, but this is a helpful tip that may come in handy.
