Help - My go to trousers are discontinued and I'm after options for a replacement.

Hi all! Ive been using Mammut Massone Light Pants for years in all seasons as I run very hot and love their breathability, manoeuvrability, cuffed ankles and the fact that they dry really quickly. I find that as long as my torso and feet are warm then I'm fine.

Unfortunately they've discontinued them and I can't find anything except the heavier weight standard option.

Does anyone know of anything similar? I'm open to any budget really. Thanks!

How long are clippers meant to last and is my replacement choice the best option?

I had a set of Babyliss Japanese Steel clippers and the head popped off on its own last week, which wouldn't go back on. I acquired a replacement head but it wouldn't go on either so I'm assuming they're dead.

As I bought them in 2021 I'm guessing they had a good run considering biweekly use given that many comments on this sub seem to say 2-3 years?

I'm thinking of replacing them with the TBOP play, but as they will now mainly be used for a grade 2 buzz cut (aging is a bitch), with the occasional undercut for my kids, is there a newer/better option for around £50-£100?

Pension problem (England). 15 years ago I took VR from a company and part of the deal was to get my final salary pension at 50. Now they’re saying that it’s not real.

I worked for them from 01/01/2001 until June 2012. When they initially offered VR, the pension at 50 was only for people over 40 years old. At the time I was in my early 30s and not interested. However, they then opened it up to all employees who were on the final salary scheme, of which I was one. I expressed an interest and took VR based on a years salary as a lump sum and my pension from 50.

I got a letter from them recently stating that the provision was changing to an insurance scheme with L&G as the old final salary scheme is wound down (there aren’t many of us left). The communication mentioned that my pension was from 60, so I contacted L&G and sent a copy of the letter from the pension trustees to rectify.

L&G then sent a response from the employer denying the letter and stating that it was impossible for me to get my pension before 55. When I pushed back and said that they weren’t the Ts&Cs I agreed they sent a different response saying that they must be because they wouldn’t have offered it to me due to age.

Not thinking, I sent a message to L&G saying that I was pretty shocked they were trying to stiff me and I was going to take them to court, may have burned some bridges.

The problem is, aside from that letter and a thanks for your service letter everything else was on a hard drive and was lost.

My question is - what are my next steps and what kind of solicitor should I be speaking too?

Thanks!

UPDATE - I may have found someone else who took a later round of VR and had the same issue.

Either way, i will write a formal complaint to the trustees and an identical one to L&G. I will also speak to a couple of employment specialists tomorrow and see what the options are regarding my preferred outcomes and any taxation issues that may arise. Thank you all so much for your input!

Please help me narrow down my search! UK

I’ve had this for decades but I’ve never been able to find out much more about it other than A) it’s oldish and B) it’s a female. It would be amazing to know what country/era/style it is and hopefully track down a plausible partner for her! Thanks.

I’m really happy. I haven’t had an electric since 2005 and I’ve always convinced myself I needed humbuckers.

It’s a 2nd had 2020 US Telecaster in Honeyburst. The neck has been played in nicely and suits me far better than when new.

Absolutely in love with it.
