How to draft a petal hat?

I’ve got several patterns like these for my kids, which they love, but my youngest wants me to make some matching ones for her dollies. How do I go about scaling them down? I’ve never drafted for myself before so appreciate any advice you can offer, thanks

Small business platter/catering recommendations

Morning folks,

I’d like to order some bits for my kids school as a thank you to all the staff. I had thought of Platter Elf in Newton Leys but they don’t seem to be in business any more. Any other recommendations for reasonably priced grazing type bits for a staff room?
Thanks!

Don’t skimp on car seats

So many people gave me shit about insisting on my Axkid car seats, how they were too expensive, and for extended rear facing etc, telling me to turn them around from barely a year old. My eldest is 10 now and my in-laws keep letting him sit in the front on a flat booster, while I still have him in a high backed booster in the back as he hasn’t hit the height to be safe in a seatbelt yet.

Well last night I stopped at traffic lights and the mama behind me did not.

My kids barely moved, and are absolutely fine so far.

Hers both broke their noses. The eldest was in the front seat and the airbag hit her. The younger was in a flat, no back, booster in the back and hit the seats in front of her. I think they were ok otherwise, but the difference was clear.

Today, when my in-laws collected them for me, my fil opened the front door for my son, and my son said “no thanks Grandad, I’m good in my car seat in the back.”

Editing to add that I am UK, not US based

What next? Advice appreciate

I’m an assistant head teacher in a SEND school. I’ve been teaching in some form or other for thirty some years and I think I’m done with education…but what do I do now?

I can’t afford for my wage to drop too drastically, though I know a drop is likely inevitable, but I honestly have no clue what direction to go in from here, other than knowing I do not want to be self-employed. Any ex teachers out there, or folks who hire ex teachers that could offer any advice please? TIA
