I was thinking of this.

At one point my then husband was told that both me and the baby might die if they didn’t get my blood pressure under control. It was so frightening.

I was just thinking how irresponsible it is if her, if she is really ill, to not be sorting it.

She has eight children relying on her.

What would happen?

I mean I have my own snarky theories over what would happen but seriously - she has to consider the rest of her children too. Being pregnant isn’t an internet trend it’s serious shit.

I’ve just been to my parents for 24 hours and realised I like being on my own.

I really crave alone time.

I don’t quite understand as I’d love a partner, not to live with though. But I love being able to not have to chat.

To listen to podcasts or to listen to nothing.

God but they’re soul destroying.

So I decided to come off and delete all apps.

I spoke to a few friends about how I was feeling and realised that I felt I was putting myself in a shop window for men to decide whether I was right for them. My self esteem was measured by that and as a result I found myself wanting to become more of what would make me marketable.

I found myself almost trying to persuade men of things like - no it’s not too far, or worse persuade myself that them writing ‘apolitical’ would not ultimately be a deal breaker.

That’s not my normal day to day thinking so why was I doing it with dating?

I’ll be sixty next year. I deserve happiness on my own terms and I’ve come to really believe that may be on my own. And that that’s ok.

I’ve also had three ex dates message me out of the blue. Nope, if I wasn’t good enough back then, then nothing has changed bar your self imposed bar being lowered.

Before anyone says anything I’m sure it’s the same for men too.

Anyone else had this epiphany and felt better for it?

Just matched with someone on Bumble. ETA - he had swiped right on me first.

Sent them a short message connected to something they wrote in their profile.

Had a response back saying

Why did they do that?

Was it just to reject someone?

Does anyone else’s heart sink when they see their courier is Evri?

I’ve been waiting for something since 30th July. No update on Evri app, company say they’ve given it to them.

Other times I’ve waited in only for it to be updated it won’t be arriving. Then it sometimes does and sometimes doesn’t.

They never knock the door. Just leave it.
