Tension issues with Bernina 700 vintage

My dtr purchased a Bernina 700 vintage and it was serviced prior to purchase but we can not get the tension to be correct. If I line up the dark line in the middle of the tension window, as the manual states, the top thread loops on the bottom terribly. If I move the tension line to the far right so that I can see the plus sign, it’s better but still looping the top thread underneath. If I move the line to the far left, it nests up so badly it stops sewing. We’ve re threaded it multiple times, bobbin is aligned and in properly. It did work well a couple of weeks ago but we put a new thread type in the top thread. Could it be as simple as making the same thread on top as in bobbin? Suggestions? Located in Belgium.

Prevent overcharging phone?

I like to plug my phone in to the car so I can use Apple CarPlay when driving but fear it charges my phone’s battery too much on long drives. Is there any way to prevent this for longer drives?

Super Zig Zag, need help restoring it

Was given this old girl but we need help restoring her to working condition. Model MZZ 11005 or 77005? Only name is Super Zig Zag and “made in Japan”. Would love help identifying age and manual. Bobbin case was intact. Appears to run very quietly but obviously needs cleaning and oiling. Needs a new rubber wheel to wind a bobbin. Cabinet is in awful condition and she doesn’t have a pedal—only a knee power bar in the awful cabinet. Hubby will assess electrical situation carefully and replace wiring. Can anyone tell me about this girl? Does she even sew a straight stitch? I don’t want to run it until he works thru the electrical stuff. Thanks!
