debating on leaving from a disrespectful chef

Ive worked as a waiter at a restaurant for 2-3 years now, and have always clashed with one chef. hes not head chef or anything, and the actual head chef is really kind and never has any issue with my capabilities at work, and neither do any of my FOH managers.

There was a large disagreement when i was told service, to take out a dish, with the ticket down and then was scrutinised for not spotting the missing garnish, and i then had two chefs shouting at me and insulting me. my manager reprimanded them both and this chef stopped talking to me completely. however, in recent months he has been creeping back into his old ways...

Today we were severely understaffed and i was doing 2-3 peoples jobs at once, so naturally service was slow. however this chef decided to spend the day nitpicking how i stamped my tickets, once again not spotting a tiny mistake of his (which i admit, i should have spotted) and constantly telling me to hurry up when i literally could not move any faster. the list goes on but i dont want to drag the post out. it got to the point where the expo/team leader, who is also his wife, had to defend me saying that we could not move any faster.

I feel almost defeated. im polite, i never protest what he says, and hes never like this with any other current staff and multiple people who used to work here a while ago complained but nothing ever happens.

How can I deal with a disrespectful, rude chef?

Hey all,

I’ve been at my place of work for 2+ years. At the start I got along really well with this chef, and he seemed like a decent person. Over a year ago, he was given a warning from my manager for shouting and insulting at me for not spotting his small mistake on a new dish to the menu.

Since then, he’s mostly ignored me. I couldn’t care less about the previous altercation and just wanted to get along with my coworkers. However as time went on he would be noticeably ruder and disrespectful when talking to me, like I’m not even a person. I’ve ignored it for a while but there’s been times when he’s massively nitpicked me for things that no other manager, or coworker has issues with or gets nitpicked on. It leads me to mess up more as I’m always waiting for him to make some sarcastic/aggressive comment. It’s at a point where I can’t even ask a simple question without some rude answer.

I’m a uni student for the last year so Im not at this place for long amounts of time so a lot of rules/ the way things work change quite a lot and I’m not always updated on the changes. if I make a mistake from a change I wasn’t aware of, instead of asking he’ll be very disrespectful and rude.

I’m a bit at my wits end as multiple other people had issues with him and complained and he just kept getting warnings over and over again.

Girlfriends hates my friend and I’m not sure what to do

Hey guys,

A few months ago I was on a night out with some friends. One friend, I’ll call B. I’m in a friendship group with him so it’s hard to distance myself from him. B is a bit socially awkward and has a habit of making jokes which don’t suite the vibe, but he is harmless at heart and has helped me through a lot of tough times.

Anyway, my girlfriend joined me at the end of the night as we were going back to mine and some shots went out. B decided to “insult” me by handing my girlfriend a shot and saying something along the lines of “this is for putting up with the sex with [my name]”. I wasn’t exactly in the conversation and hadn’t processed it, and next thing I knew my girlfriend was upstairs. I followed her up and explained I’d have a word with him and comforted her.

When we left that night, we had an argument as my girlfriend felt I didn’t react quickly enough. We made up and that night I called him and explained that he was out of line and he genuinly apologised.

I distanced myself from B for a few months to let the dust settle, and I was going back to uni. I explained this plan to my girlfriend and she was on board. One day me and B called and he admitted he has had a wrong outlook on relationships and was now seriously dating a girl who he liked. So, when I came back from uni, with permission from my girlfriend, I hung out with him again and he seemed genuinely more down to earth and didn’t say anything weird or horrible.

I get home and suddenly my girlfriend is upset that I hung out with him and constantly asking if he asked me any creepy questions about me and her (which obviously he didn’t). I explained that I felt confused with what she wanted me to do as before she expressed she was okay with it. I’m just so confused here and could do with some advice

New classical - some questions

Hey everyone, I’m new to classical guitars so excuse me if I sound stupid with these questions.

The action on my guitar is rather high so I plan on sanding down the bottom of the saddle (and buying some spare ones just in case)

The main thing bothering me is the frets. I understand that classical guitars weren’t designed for bending (from what I understand, I may be wrong) but I find when I do bend it’s quite scratchy. Im pretty sure the guitar was new when I bought it, or at least in great condition.

Thanks for any help

i keep waking up to figures in my room

Ive been at uni for the last 4-5 weeks, but twice in my house at home ive had this occur.

before i went back to uni around 6 weeks ago i woke up at 3.30am to a young girl looking over me. she was somewhat transulcent and i thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me. i turned on my light and scrolled on my phone for a little bit and when i turned it off again, the girl was closer, and almost smiled at me. she tapped my knee and i felt it, and then dissapeared.

i sort of forgot about it as i went off the uni, but on my second night back home (last night), I once again woke up to what looked like a boy, but as my eyes adapted it looked like a man in either a sailor uniform or a army general uniform (im not really sure). i turned on my light and he was gone, but my room felt weird after that.

neither times was i really freaked out. i felt calm. im not really sure what to make of it all. my house is somewhat old, and all of my family have seen figures around the house at different points, but this is my first actual time ive seen something. when i was younger i claimed i saw things but i never remembered.
