Has anyone tried installing an FM band converter in a Japanese boombox?
Hello! I am looking for some advice about the feasibility of my scheme. I have this beautiful Toshiba Sugar boombox, but as it's a Japanese domestic product the radio only picks up FM radio between 76 - 90 Mhz. When researching this I found out that this is a common problem in car stereos and you can buy cheap converters, e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/318177171232 . Since these are designed for a 12V car setup I was planning to get one of these and also a small 9v -12v step-up ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174123815317 ) . I am fine with the soldering etc. but just wanted to check if i'm missing something.. do I need to worry about interference and placement of the components? There's not a lot of room in there!
Thanks in advance!
