Does anyone know what this could be

I don’t think I need to point it out but it’s the shining small circle sitting directly on top of the moon. Is it just a weirdly placed star? I am not sure but I am curious if it’s something interesting.

I’m so tired of this transit system

Nobody can say anything to help with this and no one can provide a solution. But I hope that at least some of you will see this and tell me you agree because I am getting so sick of this shit. I have lived here for four years now and I have never experienced anything like it. I knew it was really bad from the first week of living here so you’d think at this point I should be used to it and shouldn’t care as much, but as much as I’m used to it I can’t help but care. It drives me absolutely insane. Maybe I’m dramatic but at this point I am constantly left wanting to cry. I am late for school nearly every day. I am late for work nearly every shift. In order to get anywhere and guarantee to be on time I must catch a much earlier bus which is completely unfair. For reference, most places even though geographically are not that far take about an hour to get to by bus, this means just to be some place on time I must forfeit at least 2 hours of my time towards bussing to that place.

We are paying for a service and they have the audacity to raise the costs of transit every year without improving its quality at all. Apparently it never used to be this bad. I know it’s not as bad during the summer (it’s still quite unreliable) so maybe something to do with students going back to school feeds into the issue.

There have been countless times where it’s been the dead of winter and i’ve gotten off work late at night and waited for hours in -19° weather because the bus just doesn’t come. Why do all the apps say the bus is coming and why does it happen so frequently that it just doesn’t. Am I the only one who feels like our city seriously needs to do better? This is ridiculous. I don’t want to be one to complain but I just can’t help it. It affects me so harshly every day between friends work and my classes it is impossible to get places on time. Every time I have to use the same, very real excuse that my bus didn’t come or was delayed and people will only accept that excuse so much. I know people who have gotten fired over it. I’m lucky that my managers aren’t so harsh.

I don’t have the option to just take a cab or uber. Most of my friends who don’t have cars practically uber everywhere and I don’t understand and feel frustrated with the fact they can just do that whenever they want to. I guess their parents pay for it? It’s really expensive to do that and it costs enough just to have a bus pass. With the amount of times this happens I would be ubering everywhere all the time. Our city seriously needs to stop spending money on ridiculous things and start making serious changes to improve things around halifax. I am sorry if this offends anyone but honestly Halifax to me is a very poor excuse for a city; all things considered. I want to like it here but this is one thing that makes things very difficult for me.

Whoever actually took the time to read this rant I appreciate you because I needed to say this to somebody that may feel it on the level that I do. I bus everywhere. I have two jobs and go to class so half my day is spent bussing and honestly saying “half my day” isn’t even an unreasonable statement considering how unreliable and poor our transit system is. Not to mention any given bus route normally takes an hour or more for places that if you were to drive range anywhere between 5-15 minute drives. Which also seems totally ridiculous. Attached is just one of many many many times there have been extreme problems with these busses.

How to Acquire a praying mantis

Hello. I really want a praying mantis but I’m not sure how to go about getting one. I live in Nova Scotia so buying one online isn’t really an option for me because even if i choose one of the cheapest ones (eg. $15-$25) it still ends up being well over $100 with shipping costs and such. Which is relatively understandable considering it’s a live animal and the majority of that cost is ensuring it arrives… alive. I am wondering if people have any recommendations on how I can get one in my situation.

I have also considered buying an egg case because I know you can normally get them at local gardening and hardware stores but I only want one, not 100-300 lol. Wondering what people would suggest.
