Found this guy today on my parents back porch, or, rather, it decided to find me by crawling across my foot.
What’s going on with its abdomen? Parasite activity? Bad molt? Can I do anything to help it, or provide end of life care? Help.
(This is a temporary enclosure until I get back home to my place)
had this lil guy hanging around our back porch for the past 2 weeks. found him on his side yesterday. not an expert so can’t tell if it’s actually him or just the molt. persevered in some alcohol.
My husband of 30 years passed suddenly on June 11th which was shocking. I've had to learn to do a lot of things in life that he took care of for us. The other day I was getting ready to mow the lawn for the first time ever when I saw a Praying Mantis hanging out on the garage door. I tried to move him so I could open the garage door to get the mower but he wasnt having it. We were in a stand off for about an hour when it suddenly occurred to me that I had NEVER seen one the entire 2 decades we've lived in this house. I think the little dude was my husband checking up on me . That was really comforting whether its the truth or not. Dont know how to post a photo so I will try and put it in the comments.

Heard a crazy noise coming from a bush near my house. I found this dragonfly going nuts trying to escape while this Mantis was just going to town eating the head.
My orchid mantis is about 11 months old and I guess I’m finding out that he is a she. They started squirting this white ooze on a branch, which apparently is an egg sack. But Stack has been the only mantis in this enclosure pretty much their entire life (Smoke died in a molt at like 3 months).
Is this a miracle birth? What’s happening?
