Is it true about CHU?
I just heard that CHU will go silent on June 22nd. Dang, I can't believe it's true.

There are two video clips. In middle of these Windoze did an unsolicited update/reboot, grrrh. I hate when it does that, usually it asks.
The first video was recorded at 02:13 UTC and the second at 01:51 UTC. Listed backwards for reasons below.
The first video identifies the station and gives instructions on how to get QSL cards. This is why I'm showing it first. Lucky me, Windoze finished doing its thing and rebooted in time for me to capture this.
As you can hear from the music in the second video, reception was decent.

Yes, he's back at it again u/sternradio666 in glorious AM Stereo with waterfall painting. I see he's painting outside of the audio. Was that a simulpaint audio cast? That's one creative swashbuckler. The signal was behind a high noise floor but you could see what he's up to.

This is weird. There is a repeat loop in the Pirate Band on 6925 kHz USB. What do they mean by this? Does anyone know what this about? So which of our pirates has lost the plot? The noise floor is bad tonight, for a change it's QRN not QRM.
The transcript is below.
"The Problem is there you watch the blood trail and they'll figure it out so yeah you got to be careful."

The 22m band was pretty dead for me but RNZ came to the rescue. Their signal was unsteady so I had to tweak my SDR to get this. At 06:00 they ended and the BBC came on the same frequency, I believe on the same transmitter site. Do they rent time from RNZ? The BBC doesn't broadcast to the USA any longer so this was nice to hear. I like the BBC World Service and unfortunately have to get it streamed on the Internet rather than on SW.

Well maybe not a Religious Pirate, but then again USB might be a hint lol. This guy went non-stop, as if he didn't need to breathe. This is good for a giggle, I hope he doesn't mind too much. OK, maybe not a pirate. The American religious SW blowtorches that I'm familiar with run 100 kW AM or more not low power. Has anyone run across something like this in USB?

So this is Rádio Prague. I used to listen to them when I was 10 years old on my Heathkit GR-64 radio that I built. Back then they were part of Czechoslovakia, now they are split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Apparently they no longer use their own transmitters, hence WRMI. The brokering kind of kills the fun of a true national DXing.
Some Interesting History
I was listening when the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968. The Soviet Red Army couldn't shut them down because they trained the Czechs to use mobile equipment to evade capture by NATO. It's ironic how that training backfired. The cat and mouse game went on for about a week. Now that's some serious Pirate Radio. It's an amazing story. At one point the Soviet tanks came to the official studio and brave citizens blocked them so that the station's staff could move equipment away from capture. If I remember over a dozen brave people gave their lives. At the time I read many interesting articles in the newspapers.

I was surprised to hear a pirate below 6900 kHz, but here it is. Then again I haven't listened to pirates all that long.
I had to listen for a while to get their station Id mentioned and recorded in the video clip, yay. The USB was pretty wideband, I dragged the BW on screen to just over 12 kHz. Maybe they'll get into AM Stereo just like SternRadio u/sternradio666 (he'll probably notice this lol)

Received Radio Marti on 3 different frequencies. They were dominant in their bands with a good signal, little to no fading. 49 meters hasn't opened up for me, yet.
They must have one hell of an electric bill.
