Oddly specific, but I need help!

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out a really frustrating input issue.

My Setup: I have a Windows 11 Pro desktop running Hyper-V. I remote into this host using Parsec from my Android tablet. On this host, I am running two VMs: one Windows 11 VM and one Ubuntu VM.

The Problem: When I remote into my host via Parsec, all touch inputs and clicks work flawlessly. Furthermore, when I open my Windows 11 VM, everything is also completely fine – clicks and movements pass through directly from the tablet without a hitch.

However, as soon as I open my Ubuntu VM (using Hyper-V's VMConnect), the mouse movements track perfectly inside the VM, but mouse clicks do absolutely nothing.

What I have tried so far to fix it: I suspect this is a clash between Parsec's input injection and Hyper-V's Basic Session synthetic mouse driver for Linux. Here are the solutions I have attempted:

  1. Tried switching from Wayland to Xorg: I edited /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-daemon.options to disable Wayland. I also made sure xorg and gnome-session-x11 were installed. Despite this, the gear icon refuses to show up on the login screen, so I couldn't manually select Xorg.
  2. Attempted to enable Enhanced Session Mode: Since RDP (Enhanced Session) handles Parsec inputs perfectly on my Win 11 VM, I tried to replicate this on Ubuntu. I installed xrdp, linux-tools-virtual, and linux-cloud-tools-virtual on the Ubuntu guest and started the xrdp service.
  3. PowerShell configurations: I tried forcing the transport type via PowerShell on the Windows host using Set-VM -VMName <name> -EnhancedSessionTransportType HvSocket.

Despite all of this, the "Enhanced Session" button in the VMConnect View tab remains completely greyed out for the Ubuntu VM.

Has anyone experienced this specific Parsec + Ubuntu Hyper-V click issue, or does anyone know what I might be missing to get Enhanced Session working on Ubuntu so the clicks will finally register?

Thanks in advance!

Flashing Xiaoxin Pad pro 2023 (SD 870) from unofficial "global rom" to official CN ZUI

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using my Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 12.7" (Snapdragon 870, model TB371FC) for about two years now. It came pre-installed with a vendor/fake "Global ROM" (so the bootloader is already unlocked).

While it has served me well, I'm getting tired of the bugs that come with these unofficial ROMs—most notably, my mouse movement/cursor is rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise in certain apps, which is driving me crazy when trying to be productive. On top of that, I haven't received a single OTA update in two years.

I want to flash it back to the official Chinese ZUI stock ROM to get official updates, Widevine L1, and hopefully fix the input/mouse orientation bugs.

I am completely new to flashing Android ROMs, so EDL mode and QFIL feel a bit intimidating, and I'm nervous about bricking it. That said, I am otherwise very computer-literate and comfortable with technical tasks.

My main concerns & questions:

Accessories: I rely on the official Lenovo magnetic keyboard and precision pen. I assume official ZUI supports them fully (and hopefully fixes the mouse bug), but can anyone confirm?

Method: Is QFIL via EDL (9008) mode the standard/safest way to return to stock ZUI on the TB371FC?

Relocking Bootloader: Once stock ZUI is successfully installed via QFIL, should I relock the bootloader to get Widevine L1 back, or is that risky?

Pitfalls: What are the most common QFIL mistakes to avoid for a first-timer (e.g., Qualcomm driver issues, path length errors)?

Any advice, links to reliable guides, or reassurance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Brook

Hello everyone!

So I've now confirmed my suspicions that my tank is infected with brook...

I lost my bicolour blenny three days ago, my flame angel has been lethargic since yesterday morning and this morning I found it dead. Now I see both my clowns having some mucos strings hanging from the dorsal fins and pale faces. No appetite either...

I've checked ammonia, nitrite and nitrate parameters and nothing is off, only the nitrate being around 30ppm, but I just did a 25% water change today to lower that... The pH is 8.15.

We're having a heatwave right now, but I have three fans blowing directly on the top surface of the tank and I keep a good eye at the temperature making sure that it doesn't get over 26 degrees celsius.

I've seen that you can treat it with formalin and/or freshwater bath. I've heard that the freshwater bath is a temporary solution and that formalin is the way to go... Though formalin isn't something that I can get a hold of since it's illegal to own as a private person....

Are my last two clowns doomed?

Phelsuma and water feature

Hello guys,

I’d love to hear your opinion on adding a water feature to a vivarium for a group of Phelsuma klemmeri.

I’m still in the planning phase because I want to get things as right as possible from the start and avoid having to make major changes later on.

I recently bought a 90×45×90 Exo Terra and I’m considering building a small water feature that could potentially house some nano fish (galaxy rasboras and chili rasboras) as well as cherry shrimp.

My idea is to have a drainage layer behind/under the water feature that sits slightly higher, so the substrate doesn’t come into direct contact with the water. The “P” in the back left corner of the sketch would be a pump connected to a hose running behind the background, creating a small trickling waterfall.

My biggest concern is whether the little guys could accidentally fall from leaves or branches into the water and potentially drown.

Has anyone here tried something similar or had experience with this kind of setup?

(Sorry for the terrible sketch 😅)

I know that the Phelsumas wouldn't be using the water trickling down the background, it's more for visual effect.

JEBAO MLW20 too strong?

Hi guys!

So I just down scaled from a 50gal to a 24 gal tank due to size constraints in my office since I also want a terrarium now - these hobbies are more expensive and addicting than anything 🤣😭

To save money I want to use as much as possible on new gear for the new tank. I have a bicolour blenny and a pair of clowns in the tank. One of the clowns is rather small 1 inch-ish and I am nervous that my MLW-20 at 30% setting is still too strong for the little clown.

No matter if I turn the flow on or off the clown just stays in one corner. It doesn't look like it's really struggling, I think... It's the usual clown swimming which looks a little derpy. The other fish in the tank are all over the tank when the flow is on and they don't really seem bothered by it.

I just introduced them all to the tank the other day so it could just be it's nervous about the new smaller environment since it did have A LOT of room in that 50 gal.

I've been thinking about returning to the hobby and creating a vivarium for some Phelsuma Klemmeri. I want to give them plenty of room which is why I am going for a (90x45x90 cm) exo terra. Now as I have kept them before I know their needs and I know they like to be in the upper half of the vivarium which is why I was wondering if I could combine some poison dart frogs (Dendrobates) as well. I've never kept poison dart frogs so I come here for some expertise.

TL;DR:

Is it possible to keep Phelsuma Klemmeri and poison dart frogs (sp. Dendrobates) together in a 90x45x90 cm bioactive vivarium? What do I need to look out for?
