Starting my first Persona game. Should I be using a guide?

I'm having surgery soon and will be in bed for the next few weeks. I bought 5 Royal on Switch a few months ago and I figured now is the best time to finally jump in. Persona always scared me because the idea of balancing dungeons, social links, and skills always stressed me out, as someone with anxiety, OCD, and ADHD. I've seen a few guides that are basically just spreadsheets with bullets telling you where to go and what to do there, so they seem pretty non-spoilery.

I don't care about 100%ing the game. I just want to experience the whole story and I dont want to get 90 hours in and discovery I fucked up my run because I didn't know what I was doing. For my first Persona game, do you recommend using a guide, or would that likely kill the experience?

Does long hair make FFS recovery harder?

I have part 1 of my FFS next month. I have long wavy hair about down to my chest and part 1 of my surgery will be mostly brows and forehead area. In terms of keeping the area clean and changing bandages, is FFS recovery easier if you dont have bangs or long hair, or am I just overthinking this?

I should have know better than to play something other than BG3

I was finally playing through the KOTOR games. I liked KOTOR and absolutely loved KOTOR 2...while it lasted. Long story short, the restoration mod was conflicting with another mod and preventing me from progressing. I tried to remove the conflicting mod and it broke the game. I tried restoring the game files but no dice. I had the bright idea to uninstall and reinstall the game, assuming my saves would be backed up to the cloud. They were not. 44 hours in and on the last planet of the game, I will now be watching the conclusion on YouTube.

....oh well, guess it's time for my 4th playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3

Edit:

I feel like mayyybe people are misinterpreting my post. Yes, this was 100% my fault. I didnt bother to back up the game files before I started modding the game. It's a pretty famously buggy game but that's not what caused the issue. I find modding games fun but it obviously carries risks. This was in no way meant to trash KOTOR 2. I loved it and don't regret my time with it in the slightest.

There's something special about Baldur's Gate 3 that I can't identify

When I finished my first BG3 run, I felt underwhelmed and found the srory kinda boring. I really had to force myself to keep going from act 2 on. And yet...as soon as I finished, I rolled a new character and started again. I got halfway through act 3 and then lost interest and played another game...then immediately rolled a new character in BG3. This time I got to the end of act 2 before getting bored and quitting again and playing something else. And yet....I'm now thinking of starting over again and trying an evil run.

I don't know what it is about this game. I have a lot of games on my list and a very limited time for gaming, so I almost never replay games. I don't understand what it is about this game that keeps pulling me back, but the heart wants what it wants, I suppose.

What should I read before the Ableoth books?

Lately I've fallen back in love with Star Wars and YouTube recommended me a video about Ableoth lore. I haven't ready many Star Wars books but her design is so creepy and I love it. I understand she's toward the end of the Star Wars legends books so obviously jumping right in to her books would leave me feeling fairly lost. I've read the Heir to the Empire trilogy, which seems to be kind of the start of the expanded universe. What else do I need to read to have to the necessary context for the Fate of the Jedi series (which I think is where Ableoth appears)

What's a game you initially hated, but then replayed later and loved it?

I've been on a huge Star Wars kick lately and have been going ham on the Star Wars shows, which got me in the mood to reinstall The Old Republic, since I only completed a couple of the storylines. After doing a flashpoint than was related to Revan I decided to replay KOTOR, because I felt like I was missing a lot of context.

I played KOTOR in college and hated it. I'm not sure if I was in the wrong frame of mind or if the universal praise for it just created impossible expectations, but I remember walking away very disappointed. I just finished KOTOR 1 and damn...wtf was wrong with me, in college? My feelings about the game took a total 180, and I absolutely loved it! Currently installing KOTOR 2.

Is there a game you initially really disliked but played it again later, for whatever reason, and fell in love with it?
