I recently had a debate with someone regarding the revenue ranking of each Nod-Krai character in the Japanese Game-i rankings.
For the longest time, I assumed that the figures represented the combined revenue generated during that banner period, including all sources of spending such as limited banners, Chronicled Wish, Battle Pass, Miliastra, and other in-game purchases.
However, I found the following note on their website:
同時に複数のガチャが開催されていた場合は売上を等分します。
If multiple gacha banners are running simultaneously, the revenue for that day is divided equally among them.
This honestly surprised me.
Does this really mean that, for example, if Sandrone and Citlali are running at the same time, Game-i simply allocates 50% of the total estimated revenue to Sandrone and the other 50% to Citlali?
So if Sandrone is listed with 11.51G, does that automatically mean Citlali is also assigned 11.51G, regardless of which banner players actually pulled on?
To me, that feels quite strange.
Personally, Sometimes i use this kind of data as one indicator of a character's popularity among Japanese players. But if the revenue is simply split evenly between simultaneous banners, then it seems the statistics is soo far from be a represent of popularity or sales performance of individual characters.
Because of that, I came up with my own calculation method by combining Game-i's estimated revenue with YShelper's banner pull statistics.
My formula is:
Adjusted Revenue = 2 × (Game-i Revenue) × (YShelper Pull Percentage)
The factor of 2 is intended to reverse Game-i's 50/50 allocation before weighting the result according to the actual pull distribution reported by YShelper.
This calculation is simply an attempt to offer an alternative perspective on the Japanese gacha market. It is not intended to represent the actual revenue of each banner, and the results are undoubtedly still far from the real figures, since neither Game-i nor YShelper provides complete official data.
That said, I personally feel this approach is more representative than assuming an equal 50/50 revenue split between simultaneous banners. At the very least, it incorporates actual banner pull distribution data rather than treating every concurrent banner as having identical revenue.
Of course, this is only a personal estimation, so take it with a grain of salt. Tehe.
