I'd be interested to hear people's strategies for managing updates to M365 Apps for Enterprise if you can't/won't use Autopatch for this. It was my understanding that you HAD to be on monthly channel to use Autopatch, or it would automatically switch you to it if you weren't...

How do you manage users that need to be on different channels and their associated update schedules?

Do you have UAT users in each first then deploy to wider estate for each channel?

What is your deployment method?

Do they need to be packaged and pushed out for each version/build?

How do you target different users/devices? Just via groups?

I'm trying to learn more about real world strategies for managing such things rather just fiddling about in my test tenant on my single test machine.

For a little background we have an environment where we have cloud native Autopilot Windows devices and SCCM manged devices.

My question is for a user that has an SCCM managed Windows device, with Office current channel, they are signed into their Microsoft account and licensed with an M365 E5. Will that user receive any Office settings as enforced by CPS or will it only be GPOs they get? Or will it be a mixture of both? In any scenario, what is it that controls this and makes sure only one or the other applies or sets precedence?

I had always assumed that the Device Configuration workload in SCCM being shifted to Intune is what controlled this, however after reading about it today it seems this has no effect on GPO whatsoever. Does CPS know which devices have their MDM set to Intune and then applies on this basis? I'm hoping to find a concrete answer on this but I can't quite work it out.

Does anyone run a takeaway/s and can tell me which brand/supplier it tends to be? Every takeaway I have tried always has a really good strong flavour sauce but when I buy one hoping for it to be the same, it NEVER is. I know for sure it's not the Crucials or Harrisons one that I'm tasting from the takeaways I use. Do we have any other suggestions please? Thanks!
