Heyo. Following up on my earlier post.

It seems like there is interest in a meetup/trade/swap/sale of cacti, so I’m hosting one from 12-2 on Sunday.

Including pics of what I have up for offer. Have had one other cacti enthusiast who is definitely planning to come and share some of his offerings as well, not a reddit person. Will add some pics of what he is bringing to if he sends me some.

If you plan to come, please shoot me a message and I will send the address on Sunday morning.

Bring cacti, drinks, food, whatever you plan to share — or just come to get some cacti and meet some new peeps. Kids welcome so long as they are good around cacti!

Also if there’s a better time that works for the masses on Sunday, let me know.

I will have some chips and homemade salsa to share. Hope to see ya soon!

Sale/giveaway fall cleanup next weekend.

Cut some thingz on Saturday and am preparing for bringing most of my collection to come in and go dormant. Prepping a little earlier than usual as I’m getting brain surgery on Oct. 13th —

Will have large cuts, some rooted specimens, and some smaller cuts available. Nothing more than $20 per cacti, with freebies for all who come to grab something.

A few pics included but will post later this week with names when available and better pictures.

A/C Update and Question on “My Guy Heating and Air”

I posted a week or two ago asking about A/C repair recommendations.

I had them come out today to check on my A/C. It was determined that our refrigerant was leaking out of a valve at bottom of unit and to replace and refill refrigerant would be over $5,000.

Had them quote us their heat pump options and are looking at over $20,000 upfront which seems to be the going rate.

Checking to see if anyone has used them for any major installations and if so how did you like them? Reviews online look good and I had a pleasant experience with the tech today.

AC HELP! Recs on how to improve AC or who to call for help (or just commiseration)

These hot days have been brutal and my A/C simply cannot keep up.

I have done all the little things I can find to help improve efficiency: cleaning out the entire unit, checking coils, and making sure filter is fresh and vents are clear…

We do not have the most efficient AC and it also may be a bit small for our home (was here when we purchased).

Looking for tips on what else we can do?My next step is making sure the house is as efficient as possible and not leaking all our cold air somewhere.

If anyone has a person or company to call that isn’t too expensive to come check things out not opposed to that either.

Also very possible this is just too much heat for the unit to handle.. are other people with AC experiencing this?!

Just broke the 1000 mile mark!

Just broke the 1000 mile mark on my level 3 aka “Purp”. I got her in April of 2025 after having a seizure in February making me unable to drive a car for 3+ months.

Since then I have had 2 more seizures so have had more driving limitations. Not sure I would still be sane without this and a decent bus system in my area.

Thinking about upgrading my brakes at some point but otherwise super happy with my purchase. The local bike shop I purchased from did a tune up at 250 miles, otherwise have been doing my best to keep it in good shape.
