I still need spaulders and sabatons but what do yall think about it currently
I don't know how historical a lot of it is so I am wanting to hear the good and bad parts of the kit so I can try to improve it
Edit: I forgot to mention the gauntlets and greaves were borrowed from a friend for the picture so I also would appreciate recommendations on getting some Would need to be usable in Harnischfechten also
I got a sallet and bevor from someone who used to fight heavy years ago but the sallet and bevor being separate peices it has a gap when I look up so i definitely can't fight in it because of that
I was wondering if it was possible to do something to make it okay to use
Its got good padding and is 14 gauge mild steel but That gap is an issue
Would using leather straps on the inside to attach them where they can move enough to use but stop it from opening more than the maximum opening in a helm work?
Or is there some other way that would be doable
I have been trying to get into the sport for a few years but I found there isn't any clubs close enough to me and any questions here are answered with "go to your local club" and that isn't helping so i decided I wanna start one but have no idea how
I would imagine get a soft kit and people interested?
I saw this near one of the rivers in Pittsburgh in a small wooded area and was curious what it could have been from and how old it could be
There are lots of remains of old buildings on wooded areas of Pittsburgh and even one not far from this but this looks very different than an old brick house that fell apart
If anyone can figure it out I would appreciate it because it looks so cool
