2013/b2

Funkwerks glass (RIP)

If you’re a fan of (intentionally) sour stouts, you’d love this one.

Age has definitely been kind to this beer. I enjoyed it fresh but it was a bit rough for me. Time has mellowed any harshness on the back of the palate and instead you get the pleasant tartness that washes over the roof of your mouth. Dark fruits are still present in abundance.

I had high hopes that this would be a good one and I wasn’t let down.

2015 Sunday Morning Stout

Glassware is Tired Hands

This is drinking shockingly well. Coffee has held up well and once it warmed up, it was quite good. No hints of oxidation, body is still great, and a slight hint of carbonation.

Not sure of vintage, but likely 2014-2015.

Shockingly not crazy oxidized.

Maple and bacon flavors are long gone, and it’s dominated by green pepper coffee flavor. Still drinkable but not terribly enjoyable.

I’m honestly expecting about a 20% success/enjoyability rate with these but it’s time to get them out of the beer fridge.

2020 Peche n Brett. Refrigerated since purchase.

Vinegar notes starting to settle in. Still quite drinkable

Peach is faint at this point.

This will probably be one of the newer ones that I open haha.

Chris Cornell is a fraud and I’m tired of pretending he’s not

The grass is always greener, where the dogs are shitting?

A goddamned lie that for 35 years no one has talked about.

Need recommendations for a “first” real turntable/receiver/speakers setup

We’ve had this Crosley all-in-one for a few years now, and I’ve picked up a few records in that time that I’d like to listen to on something decent.

I’m looking for the cheapest decent option that I’m not going to outgrow quickly. I’m assuming I want a belt-driven counterbalanced turntable with - replaceable/upgradeable cartridge. Not sure on receiver needs just clean accurate sound. Same for speakers.

I’m just looking for some basic guidance for getting good sound, and not concerned much with ear shredding volume levels.

Thanks everyone!

Sheet is sorting blank cells in between numeric and alphanumeric cells.

I have a list of 1500 part numbers, of which 900 have a reference in the next column. Most of them are 123456 format, but some are 123456A format. When I try to sort them by the reference number, it will go lowest to highest but will put all the blank reference cells in between the cells that have only numbers and the cells that have numbers and letters.

Decided to start collecting grunge records

Now I suppose I should buy a decent record player, receiver, amplifier and speakers.

Anyways, kind of cool to have a bit of faux-history here in the basement with me. I'm thinking Rehab Doll is next.
