Carpet vs Spotted python behavior?

I was looking and wondering how their temperament is, because I'm thinking about getting a Irian Jaya CP or a Spotted python.

Are they nippy as young and grow out of it? How big/heavy have your male IJs gotten? Are they as active when handling as say a colubrid? Picky eaters or will eat anything?

(Care and everything else I don't mind because I have the tiniest pickiest dwarf boa, so I can deal with that, I'm mostly curious about everyones experiences so i can make an informed decision)

Ps. where I live there's a ban on ball pythons, and a weight limit for reptiles so no big Boas either 🥲

Color change

She was in blue a couple days ago and I want to keep the shed skin, so I checked on her monday night, and checked again today and not only did I find that she finally pooped the pinky, but she's also so light that for a big second I thought a different snake spawned in there 😂 like usually she blends with the substrate but I could find her even buried right now.

Noodle Milestone

I've had her since January and it's the first time that she's downed a WHOLE PINKIE 🥹

I was feeding her chunks of rat tail or parts of pinkies because she refused the whole pinkies and they seemed too big for her, also assisting her by poking them in her mouth because bless her she can't aim for shit (we have tried, she perches on branches, strikes and then is confused by the lack of food in her mouth, and it's not defensive)

BUT today she took the pinkie, it took us like 10 minutes of huffing and puffing but we did it (I say we because she was holding my finger and wouldn't let go)

She's now fat and mad because I also watered the plants and her favorite hole on the ground got wet 👍

More Noodle!!!

I've had her for 3 months and she's so sweet and silly 😭 she spends time in every part of the terrarium and often see her at night cruising around to find different spots (the funniest moments are me looking for her everywhere and she's just hanging on a branch looking at me and I don't notice)

Loves hanging out under the log where the springtails and isopods hang out 👍

Her water bowl is under the lightbulb and gets warm enough for her to soak in it sometimes too!!

Idk if she's eating some of the isopods (they're panda cubaris) but I've been assist feeding her pieces of rat tail (i just nudge them into her face and she just gobbles them down) because she's not interested in pinkies (they look too big for her) and not even scenting them with fish works but she's gaining weight and making normal bodily functions so i guess she's fine (I'd love ideas if you have any tho)

I THINK she's female because i cannot see or feel spurs but again, she's tiny and her cloaca is even tinier
