Held hostage by E*Trade Max Rate Checking

I have an old E*Trade account that I hadn’t used in years. This morning I transferred 2k into it. Then I logged on and realized the account is ‘locked for security’ because two years ago my dad sent me a check and it got reversed, I can’t recall the details. But it got completely resolved quickly back then.

They are refusing to unlock my account unless I supply them with my dad’s bank statements which I do not have access to. He suffers from Parkinson’s and I really don’t want to try to involve him.

I can’t do anything to access the 2k. I can’t spend it and I can’t transfer it back. After 90 min on the phone with E*Trade and finally a manager he promised me effusively all I had to do was call Chase and ask them to reclaim it.

I’d doubted that. And I was right.

Called back E*Trade and was told they’d have to open a ‘system request’ to see if they can ‘get an exception’ maybe in a week.

I told them to please just close all of my accounts and mail me a check. They refused.

I have no clue what to do about this. It’s definitely not getting fixed after speaking with 2 staff and 2 managers for hours.

Do I I file a CFPB report? Complain to my state?

I’m not being lazy I’m doing my research but I thought I’d poll the audience. Appreciate the help.

What’s with the chest X-rays?

I’ve been hospitalized for MCAS around 8-10 times. Generally I only go in when I’m vomiting so much for days that I can’t keep water down.

My hospital is really great, the drs generally just ask me what I need them to do (pretty funny considering I didn’t go to med school). Sometimes I just tell them to pull up the notes from last time and do that. Typically it is:

- 4 bags of saline

- Benadryl Iv

- Zofran IV

… and I say they need to check my potassium and magnesium. They fall too low when I’m that sick. So then they give me those two.

Since they’re generally allowing me to dictate treatment there’s one thing I can’t figure out. Why the hell are they giving me chest X-rays? I do not complain of chest pain, I’m just vomiting and fainting (and losing balance sometimes, so falling). Nothing chest related. And I’m already diagnosed with Mcas and pots so we don’t have to be on a fact finding mission.

What the heck indicates an X-ray is needed? Any theories? Because they do it nearly every time. What am I missing?

Trying to find a comment on this sub

Guys, I’m so bummed. I came across a comment a few days ago that was about a ring with a light blue stone that looked like a starburst and the vendor said to DM her as it was Reddit exclusive.

I can’t find the comment anymore and I couldn’t DM her, Reddit wouldn’t let me.

Can anyone help me find the comment? I’m sure I can find another way to get in contact with her. But now I have nothing to go on and it’s not in my history. This is torture!
