some dinners I've made for my partner & I

Ignore the mess around the plates, but here are some dinners I've made for my partner and me this week! (I'm trying to get better at plating my dishes, I don't know why I'm putting chive everywhere lol)

  1. Homemade buns stuffed with fried chicken and a homemade spicy mayo
  2. Stuffed crêpes with ham, Comté cheese and crème fraîche topped with eggs
  3. Irish beef stew made with Guinness beer and buttery mashed potatoes
  4. Quiche Lorraine

I walked out feeling a bit underwhelmed

After weeks of reading praise for the movie and seeing reels about it on Insta, as a huge Michael fan, I went to the theater last night, fully eager to watch a part of the life of my favorite singer of all time. The singer whose music has been with me since I was born.

The first part was amazing. The kid who plays little Michael left me totally speechless.

But as soon as Michael grew up, I found the movie boring. It just felt like a compilation of his greatest hits, and I didn’t learn anything new. I really felt like some important parts were missing. We Are the World ? Where was it ?

Moreover, the movie doesn’t talk enough about how important the Pepsi accident was and how it seriously affected his life and his addiction to painkillers.
I also wanted to see more of the making of the whole album Thriller (I mean, this is the greatest album of all time so I was expecting more). I feel like everything was skimmed over.

I liked the part where Michael ends the Victory Tour, and honestly, I think the movie should have stopped there, or maybe just before the Bad performance.

Apart from that, I absolutely loved the cast. They were all amazing. As soon as Jaafar opened his mouth, I felt like it was Michael. The voice, the mannerisms… he really has everything. It was super impressive.

But the screenplay felt a bit empty, and I found myself getting bored at times.

I think this movie might speak more to people who don’t know much about Michael. I honestly have no idea how they’re going to handle the second part ...

Did anyone else feel underwhelmed like I did, or am I the only one because I probably expected too much ?
