Borrowing a laptop from Rutgers

I researched this thing in the sub, and I saw some recommended talking to the Dean of students. Is that different from rutgers rental program where they charge 100 dollars for a laptop for a month? I only need the laptop from today till 1 Sept. 100 dollars for that is just too much. So, is the laptop from Dean for free? + Is the process of getting a laptop from the Dean takes a long time? Like a week or so? Or is it quick?

Note: I know about computer labs, but I need my own laptop till 1 sept

I need a laptop that doesn't cause eye strain or headaches

Country United States

Budget Max is around 1000

Are you open to refurbs/used options? Yes

Screen size Ideal 14", would go 15" if couldn't find it

Weight limit 3.5 ibs

Purpose Schoolwork

Form factor a regular laptop

Intended usage Coding all day, writing, reading texts

Desired battery life Just reasonably enough for a college student

Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life: eye friendly is a must! Anything else I might compromise if needed

Info/Requirements Prefer windows, if all is bad for my eyes will go mac. Must be free PWM. What I'm mainly after is a laptop that won't cause problems with my eyes.

I tried thinkPad 14e amad Gen 7, with display spec: 14" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 45%NTSC, 300 nits, 60Hz.

It totally fucked up my eyes from day 1. I use my university PC all day with no issues. So please any recommendations? I don't know what to look for now since that thinkpad was free PWM yet insufferable.

Help me understand exactly how blood soduim level is managed during a keto diet

When insulin is low, your body constantly dumps soduim, and water follows. Dumping water leads to a lower blood volume, and dumping soduim leads to a lower blood soduim concentration. If you just drink plain water throughout the day (the guide had the question: what should I drink on keto? And the answer was water, so im assuming plain water), you would only fix the low blood volume issue by making up for the water lost when unirating, but the lower salt concentration issue is still there since the soduim dumped when unirating hasn't been made up for yet. So how exactly do you maintain the normal salt concentration while on keto? The only two options that came into my mind are:

1- you drink water mixed with sodium THROUGHOUT the day (so not plain water). This way you fix the low blood volume and low salt concentration at the same time.

If (1) is true, why the guide just say drink water and not electrolytes??

2- the second option is: in anticipation of dumping salt, you have meals high in soduim, so when the dumping happens, you would go from high to normal salt concentration instead of from normal to low. (Obviously this raises the concern of having too high salt concentration before the dumping happens).

So can someone explain to me how your actually managing salt concentration THROUGHOUT the day while on keto?

Where can I learn more about supplements? Any guides, youtube channels recommended?

One might try to increase potassium intake because of some symptoms related to potassium deficiency, but not knowing that you need enough magnesium to retain potassium could lead you nowhere. Someone with enough calcium but having vitamin D deficiency faces similar issues. Fasting depletes minerals so its important to keep an eye on minerals when fasting. These are just a few examples that show that you really need to have some knowledge to know what you're doing. I know that consulting a doctor/specialist is what you should do, but

I wanna learn what I could learn about these topics. I don't wanna be totally ignorant about something that has a real impact on my health. Some people here seem to have been on this learning journey for some time. So, is there anything you would recommend to learn about minerals, vitamins, supplements etc?

How valuable is achieving a HM at IPhO for quant trading ?

I see many talk about getting top 500 or 200 at putnam to get a higher chance at quant trading jobs. But I never heard anyone mention high school physics olympiad achievements at all. So would you say a HM at IPhO is significant for applying to quant trading roles?

Losing Rutgers email after graduation?

I'm graduating next semester and I saw this in my email today. Does that mean I will lose access to my Rutgers email after I graduate? If not why would they send smth like that? I heard students get to keep their emails after graduation, so did everyone get that notification to transfer data but continued to have access? Or is it a new thing?
