guys im back from hawiwi

sorry i left yall. i was in kona for the past week and it was amazeballs, sorry i didnt invite you guys :(

anywyas so i swam for like a mile, and the fish were amazing, like theres a shit ton of yellow tangs, but theres also the humuhumunukunukuapua'a (aka reef triggerfish) and even dolphins. I also got to fly on a 757 for the first time over there, and got to talk to the pilots. There was a sad part tho, like everyone there was a couple and I wasnt. no like seriously EVERYONE there had a partner like what the fuck bro at least let me thirdwheel cmon. but other than that I also went up to this mountain with clouds around it and drank the best coffee ever, it was SOOOO nice. And then on the last day I went and visited the old airport which was turned into this garden thing, and on the 4th of july, i left. sigh.

I actually got to see fireworks from the plane, which was pretty cool. im pretty sure that a lot of the people setting off fireworks in my area dont rlly care about america but just wanna blow stuff up. other than that, yeah. im back. so. yeah or something.

I FLEW A PLANE AGAIN

This time I didnt get sick. I started the plane, taxiied it out, did the run up, took it off, and put it into some near stalls as training before recovering and nearly landed it. Dw my CFI took over because im not that far in to the point where im landing the plane. it was super pretty, we simulated engine-out scenarios, shallow and slow turns literally right above stall speed, and some other stuff. Also I got my logbook too.

im BASICALLY a pilot now..right?

Chipmunk vs Squirrel

So I've been putting out food for about a week, and there is one squirrel that visits every day and snacks on it. This morning a chipmunk appeared, and I thought, "Oh, how cute!". But then I watched as it stuffed its little cheeks and scampered away, only to return for a refill. After about four trips all the food was gone. At one point the squirrel wandered up, looked at the chipmunk, and then left. How does something so tiny take over?

How many of you guys are actually pilots?

Hey yall. I have a discovery flight tomorrow at a local flight school, ive been flying a lot in the sim with PMDG's 777s, the A320neos, but also a lot of cessnas. I do aspire to be an airline pilot in the future, so those of you who are airline pilots, does the sim actually make you faster during your flows or more familiar with your aircraft? If youre in training and using the sim, does the sim actually help you at all with training?
