Are any of the combo weapons ACTUALLY TRULY better at anything over the meta boss weapons? What’s your fav combo weapon?

RIP k371 hinges. looking for recommendations max $400. OPEN AND CLOSED RECS WELCOME.
haven’t looked at the headphone market since getting my koss kph40. for a long time those were my dailies on my desk with my ifi zen dac for music and gaming. then i discovered running an EQ to boost bass, and my k371 that were previously collecting dust became my dailies with their insane bass response when EQd. those 2 and the bose qc45 are the only headphones i own.
so im looking for a new headphone in 2026. they DONT EVEN NECESSARILY NEED TO BE PURE CLOSED BACKS. i have the qc45 if i need closed. ill look at open backs too if they’re a good fit me me , i saw sony mdr mv1 or semi open like the t50rp. just want something that has amazing bass response when eq’d, and some good highs as well . also relatively light and comfortable, and my head is on the smaller side and ears on the bigger side
Budget and location - usa $400 absolute max but am fine spending 100-250. koss proved to me more doesn’t always equal more.
Source/Amp - ifi zen dac/amp
How the gear will be used - music, gaming (shooters and souls-likes). EQ’d for bass on windows 11.
Preferred tonal balance - bass head with appreciation for treble
Preferred music genres - edm, metal
Past gear experience - koss kph40 absolutely love them but they struggle a touch with the eq.
akg k371 hated the sound without eq, very flat, but became my fav headphone i’ve ever heard with eq bass and treble boost. sounds like im sitting in front of a subwoofer, and the highs are crispy. also my head is a touch small and these were always too big for me on the smallest setting and i had to angle the cups for a proper fit.
bose qc45 for airplanes . good noise canceling but im not reaching for these
had hifiman he 400 and sold them, they sounded great but were extremely heavy and uncomfortable
