How good is the Vin3 nova?

I was looking for a cube that is a bit unique and has good enough performance(where I don't get mad) to use when I get bored sometimes. And stumbled across the vin nova which in the past I was looking for a main so I just passed cuz of the uv coating. But now I'm done finding a main and found this cube. I feel like just a few months ago people were talking about it but suddenly vanished. So I was also wondering what happened and how the cube performs. And also would appreciate it if there are any cubes that fit what I'm looking for(I'm looking for a cube that is like very cool or unique designs(mainly internals). Or unique brands(not gan or moyu or picube for me) that I haven't tried yet since I would still call that as unique in my perspective. The most similar "type" of cube I can compare to is probably the v100 leap but not gan(?). In more simple words a cube that decently performs(where I can use it for normal solves and not get mad) but have cool asthetics)

The usage of a moyu ai cube?

Just thought about this cuz recently moyu has been releasing an ai version for most of their flagship cubes(v11, super aolong, 19th anniversary). But since I don't have a moyu ai cube it got me thinking. Do people actually use it and if they do then why? And what are the usage for these cubes? Cuz I heard moyu's app is worse than gan and can't even do 1v1s

Pyraminx or Skewb?

Bit of a weird question.

Do you think getting sub 6 on a pyraminx harder or getting sub 7~8 on a skewb harder?(both using intermediate method, pyra: LBL and not L4e, skewb: Sarah's intermediate)

Also is sub 6 with the LBL method on pyraminx possible?

A review of the moretry tianma x3+ 32 magnet ballcore: Too cheap to use!

So first of all before I even talk about anything you need to remember that this cube is literally like 15$. A cube that has 20m ballcore and maglev is 15$! It’s literally insane for the price. But because of that there are also problems which I’ll talk about later.

First is just about the cube. The cube has 32 magnets in the ball core but in reality it’s just a stronger 20m bc cuz there’s just 2 magnets in the edges instead of one. And of course there are corner and edge magnets and also maglev. Which is a total of 112 magnets in the cube. And there are holes in the feet of the corners(in the picture) so technically you can add even more if you want. The cube is also exactly 55mm slightly bigger than the v100 and slightly smaller than v11(since v100 is like 54.5 and v11 is 55.5) and also has a glossy finish with a standard dual adjustment system with screws.

Enough about the cube and on to the actual performance. I’ll be honest here the cube is just bad. I bought this cube thinking it was going to be my main but it’s just not what I was expecting. I bought this thinking it was a very fast cube with strong auto alignment. And it is fast and has strong auto alignment but there was one thing I didn’t think about. QUALITY! To be more specific the quality is just so cheap. It feels like Moretry used all the budget on the features(magnets) and had no money to make the plastic of the cube. It’s something like the qiyi warrior where they try to make a cheap cube packed with features but the cube is still bad. Good cubes at this price range is the guhong pro+ and rs3m v5 and I have both. And seeing videos I thought it would be similar to the 2 but it’s sooooooooo different. If you thought the guhong and rs3mv5 was cheap quality this has like 10 times cheaper feeling. I feel like only hardware wise if you took out the magnets it will be like a cube from your local store. But the more weird part is that I can’t find a specific reason why this cube is so bad other than the plastic quality. The corner cutting is fine(forward and reverse) and the cube is not too tight or too flexible. But the plastics keep catching the inside and I feel like the only reason is just the plastic. And personally I’d say I turn pretty accurately since I have no issues using gan cubes but on this cube I can’t execute my algorithms well at all. I also tried lubes but it doesn’t change anything. Tried tensioning all of the settings but didn’t work out.

Also there are black caps which is unique but unfortunately my black caps arrived with the wrong amount(3 edges and 5 corners) so I can’t make much of an opinion here but all I know is that the black caps are a more tighter fit so you need a tool(knife) to remove them.

Final thoughts(TLDR): The cube has the features that I was thinking about(very fast, strong auto alignment) but the quality is just too bad to use. I wish companies like qiyi or moretry would care more about the actual plastic and not only on features. Cuz if you think about it qiyi and moretry usually makes budget cubes which is mostly for beginners and beginners don’t need that many features in a cube. So instead make the hardware better so people can at least enjoy turning the cube. Overall this was a pretty big disappointment at least for me. Don’t know how others will think about this cube but for me it’s a NO. If you’re thinking about buying a budget cube just buy the guhong or rs3v5 and if you want stronger alignment just glue edge magnets in the guhong.

New main event vs new main 3x3?

I don’t know if I should ask this on hardware but should I buy a new 3x3 that I think it might be my main or start a new event(megaminx to be exact). I thought of starting OH as a new event (no offense to the OH lovers) but I just feel like I want to do a completely different type of cube. Technically I’m just solving the same 3x3 but with one hand and learning the same algorithm but with one hand. Which adds nothing to my collection since it’s another 3x3. So I thought of doing another event which fits more to what I’m looking for which is megaminx. I wanted to do another event event where I don’t have to learn too many new stuffs smth like 4x4 where you need to already know how to solve a 3x3 and learn just a bit more on top of that(how big cubes work). And I know that megaminx is pretty similar to 3x3 since I have done it before but now I lost it. But back then I didn’t do speedcubing so now I want to try it with speed. But I don’t know if I will keep doing megaminx since I don’t know how fun it will be. But it still might just look like I should just buy the megaminx but the thing is I recently done(bought) a v11 mod and it wasn’t bad but wasn’t the best. And in the process I realized what my preference is. And after doing some research based on that I think I may have found my cube . So want to buy the 3x3 to redeem(?) the v11. But the problem is I can’t buy both the megaminx and 3x3 because it’s too expensive and I can’t buy both only buy one cube per month.
TLDR: which should I buy first? A new event that will be very fun at first but not really sure if it will be fun enough to keep speedcubing or a new 3x3 that might be the cube I’ve been looking for my whole life but might not give me enough joy since technically it’s just another 3x3.(I’ll probably buy both in the future but it’s more important to know which to buy first)

Cube recommendation based on my preference

I finally realized my actual preference of my style. I'm pretty sure a cube like this doesn't exist but would appreciate it if recommend a cube as close to this preference as possible😊

-Light cubes(turning wise and actual weight) like gan and moyu cubes, not like the tv4

-very fast cubes like the guhong pro+ (I feel the v11 with springs & gan v100 with springs on loosest setting is slow)

-very blocky cubes like the guhong pro+ (I feel the rs3m v5 is too flexible)

-no catches like the v11 and not like the guhong pro+(doesn't "have" to be forgiving)

-weak piece(corner-edge) magnets like the guhong pro+ and v100 and not like the v11 magnetic version

-strong core(corner-core & edge repulsion) magnets

-would prefer matte but if all of the other aspects are perfect and only comes in uv it's fine

-would prefer maglev but if it's fast enough with springs it's fine

-would prefer smaller cubes but if all of the other aspects are perfect it's fine

*note: I can do modding if it isn't too hard and the materials I need isn't too expensive(like putting in core magnetsto already made holes but not drilling the holes myself)

Review of the weilong dragon v11 and se mod

This is a review of the weilong v11 se & v11 dragon edition + some moding. The review is not gonna be to deep since there are a lot of good reviews from many people who have tried the v11. So this post is mainly about how I modded the 2 cubes differently and what the dragon v11 looks like(since there aren't many info about this cube online). Since this post isn't really any that special just read it like a book or smth and just relax😊 (also the black moyu logo is the se and the red picube logo is the dragon v11 i the photos)

First is about the mod. The exact model I bought is the weilong v11 se magnetic(the one with black internals with a matte finish) and the dragon v11 with transparent blue internals. For those who have heard of the dragon v11 for the first time it has only one version and it's the lowest(magnetic) version without the ball core. I bought these because I like unique designs👍 And for the magnets I bought 3x2mm for the corner mags and 2x2mm for the edge mags. I wanted to make it more like the ferrocore instead of the stock v11 so normally you would use n35 for the corner and n30 for the edge but to make it like the ferrocore I used n40 for the corner and n35 for the edges. And also if I'm right the corner-edge mags(piece magnets) is a bit stronger on the magnetic version than the bc version so it makes the total magnet strength even stronger. I also bought 1 20m ball core kit(I couldn't buy 2 because I bought the dragon v11 after I bought the kit so I didn't think I would get 2 cubes). And bought a picube logo cap because I hate moyu logo👍

That's it for what I used for the mod and now the actual moding. I first modded the se because I personally liked the dragon more so if something goes wrong I wouldn't do that mistake again for the second cube. I'm not gonna go into the moding process too deeply since I just did regular 20m ball core moding like other people so videos on moding are great in YouTube. But one thing I'm going to mention is how I modded the 2 cubes differently. When I modded the se I tried putting in the corner mags first but needed glue so went for the edge mags(one note is that magnet sizes are slightly different from different manufacturers so depending on where you bought the magnets you might need super glue or not). When I put in the first edge mag I accidentally put in 2 but didn't realize and kept pushing it in. So when I finally realized and got one of the mags out the one magnet went very deeply in(you can see it in the photo comparing the 2 edges). So for the rest of the edge magnets I just pushed it all the way in so it would all be equal(also for me the edges didn't need super glue). After this I set the se aside and just did the edges for the dragon v11 but this time didn't push it all in. Also for some reason the dragon v11's holes were a bit bigger but still fit without glue. Then I did the corners which needed glue. But since the corners needed glue I had no choice but to push it all in to secure it in place. But on the dragon v11 for some reason the furthest I pushed in was not as deep as the se making the magnet strength stronger(you can see in the photo comparing the 2 corners). And then I put in the 20m bc and done! Also I didn't mention but you obviously have to check the polarity of the magnets to the right way when putting i the magnets.

And now the performance. Since I only had 1 bc kit I put it in the se first and then put it in the dragon. As you know the se core magnets were deeper meaning it's weaker so when I tried it it definitely felt weak. Unfortunately I don't have a stock v11 to compare with but even though I used n40 and n35 mags it felt very weak and probably would be weaker than stock v11 since I could barely see the auto alignment. On the other hand the dragon v11 was amazing🤩 The core mags were strong to just where I like it and the snap at the end wasn't too strong than I thought it would be(which is a good thing since I don't like the snap much). It was my perfect cube(I almost got a pb ao5 but didn't because I was stupid and got 2 +2s. My pb could have went from 11.38 to 10.66 which is insane. The reason for not getting it is not the cubes fault but me so the cube is good👍). Overall I definitely like the dragon v11 better but for those who don't like strong magnets but want a 20m bc for the control the se mod is a very good pick.

Now for the dragon v11. It's pretty much the same as the normal v11 but it has transparent blue internals instead of primary. And for those who like darker blue don't expect to be very bluish because unlike the photo on the dragon v11 pamphlet it is much lighter blue but for some reason in my photo it looks pretty dark but it's ver light(thankfully I like the lighter blue more so I was fine). And also important note is that the blue is so light and also transparent that you can't really see the blue much while solving. It looks more of a just transparent cube than blue(you can see it in the picture where I show the inner edges by rotating the middle layer by 45°). But you can clearly notice the nice light blue color when you pull the pieces to look at the insides(like how you test flexibility in a cube) and notice very much when you take the cube apart.

Also for the set up I just did a random setting for the se since I'm not gonna main that one. I did 2 for compression(the outer orange layer which changes the flexibility of the cube) and 3 for tension(the inner white layer which changes how fast the cube is) which made the cube perfect for my turning style(fast and a bit flexible but not too much). Also did something weird with the lubes. I first thought of putting in some slow lube I the core(gan lube 3) and make the cube settings fast but didn't work out that well so wipped it all off. But apparently I didn't completely wipe it out so there was just slightly bit of slow lube left in the core which made the cube just right. And used gan lube 1 and 2 for the pieces to make it fast but don't dry too quickly(I used one drop for all the lubes). And the result was a perfect cube! I'm getting such good times with this and I might even become sub 13 soon❤️

Hope you enjoyed especially what the new dragon v11 is and maybe upload more pics of the dragon v11 in the future(when I get a blue picube center cap instead of red).

New event suggestions please 🙏

New event suggestions please! My current main events are 3x3(sub 14) and 4x4(sub 1min). And I recently bought a 3x3 main that I settled on. And also have a good main 4x4. So I was thinking of doing another event. I first thought of clock but… you know what happened. I want to main an event that doesn’t take too long but also not too short while using the intermediate method of that event(20sec~1min). And also not too hard to learn. Because I tried sq1 as a new event and didn’t go further than beginner method because it was too hard. And as a bonus it would be nice to be an official event but if none of the events match my description it’s fine if it’s not official.

Rs3m 2020 still good?

I know a lot of people might have asked this question before and the answer is probably no compared to lots of modern cubes. But that is not what I’m trying to ask. I just want to know whether the rs3m 2020(specifically the picube bc mod) is “usable” in 2026. I already have a main 3x3 and I’m not seeking for pure performance. I just want a unique looking cube that has good enough performance so I can just switch cubes during sessions when I get bored with my main a bit. But still want the cube to be decently good so my times aren’t too horrible. So is the rs3m 2020 usable or just too bad to use in often solves?

already talked about this on discord a lot but just wanted to make sure on Reddit too

How do shops like picube shop or thecubicle pro shop make sticker less logos?

How do shops like picube shop or thecubicle pro shop make sticker less logos? They look super clean and makes me want to buy them but it’s obviously a waste of money if you buy a cube for the logo. Picube does sell caps but they are for individual cubes and have only one color. So how do they do it? And is there anyway a normal human being(a normal person at home)  can make their logos similar to that at home?

The mini battle

Any reason is good(actual performance, quality, durability, design, better brand etc). Appreciate it if leave reason in comments. Just want to know the over mini king. For the fun😊

Also if your wondering why not mini m pro or guhong 54mm it's because I felt like the magnets pro is outdated and 54mm is a viable size for 3x3.

Is there any good 4x4 that has matte finish except the aosu?

My main is the picube aosu v7. Don't get me wrong the aosu is great but I just want a secondary main or at least a cube that is on par with the aosu so I can switch around the 2 when I get bored of one. I like doing that on my 3x3s so was thinking of 4x4 as well since it's my other main event😊
