Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my puppy?!

Hi there. I have posted here a couple of times but I’m at a loss right now and I’m sitting by the street crying. I have been trying to potty train my puppy. She hates being outside and doesnt like pottying outside. She refuses to pee, and then starts getting really mad, barking and biting me non stop. Our neighbours are starting to have issues and I have tried everything. I take her to puppy classes and the trainer told me to give her treats, or bring a tug toy and when she gets like this give her the toy to make it “fun”, but she starts going for my hands on purpose ignoring the toy, refuses the treats. I’ve tried not giving her attention, but she’d bark non stop. I have tried taking her back upstairs and resetting, she does it again. Most of the days I’m outside hours on end, getting bit, and just not able to do anything! I tried picking her up, and it was working, she was calming down, except now she bites me while I’m holding her and barks more when I put her down. She continues doing this even if she pees and after we come upstairs. I’m gonna post a couple of videos but I cant post them here. I’m truly desperate right now…

My puppy’s behaviour changes so fast! She no longer likes the pen!

So my puppy has a crate in her pen, and I’ve had her for a 6 weeks. Throughout these 6 weeks at night she’d be in her pen, and just swap back and forth sleeping in her crate and pen (she chose where to sleep in the pen), but in the day time, I’d put her in the crate specifically cause she would not sleep on her own!
2 nights ago, suddenly, she hates the pen. I put her in at night and she started screaming non stop. I kept taking her to the bathroom, but she screamed from 8 pm to 1 am. I checked her stomach, her gums, made sure she is ok, she kept falling asleep in the bathroom but as soon as I put her in the pen she would start barking and screaming. Eventually I put her in her crate and she passed out.
Last night… same thing!
Today I gave her a lick matt in the pen to make it positive, and she was super happy, I could leave her alone and go get chores done, then that was done, and I gave her a chew, and she started barking at me again.
What should I do? Should I get rid of the pen? I still would like to leave her somewhere when I have stuff to do!

8 week old puppy not eating on the ground

Hi guys, I have a new puppy after my dog passed away, and training her has been more difficult than I remember training my previous dog was. She gets disteacted midway or loses interest in the food. I think she knows sit and her name but Idk what else she has truly learnt. A new thing she does is I make her sit, down, say yes, give the kibble, she grabs the kibble and runs back and climbs off my lap to eat it there. I keep removing her, or rewarding her when she goes down or just straight out won’t let her climb up, but I’m not sure why she is doing that? Or how to fix it? I’m also trying crate training, over night she has a pen, in a crate, and she goes in the crate and sleeps. But I’m trying to ease her into it, and she doesn’t like the door closed at all. But with the pen, door closed, she whines a bit and then does her own puppy stuff. Overall what should I be doing?

Lost my dog

I apologize for the very long post but I’m truly struggling. I posted here a while ago saying my dog had IVDD, she was not getting better so we did a CT scan and they said she has a tumour and most likely cancer. At the time I didn’t understand how she can be so bad, while she behaves like herself (on painkillers). Then we euthanized him because there seemed to be no other option. I have ever since been trying to make sure if I made the right choice. I have the neurologist report, and I’m wondering can a vet that doesn’t know me, read this, and give me an honest to God answer on if I did the right thing? Like brutally honest, did I kill my dog?
I’ll copy the report here :

The CT report :
Findings
A transverse multi-slice dataset was acquired pre- and post-contrast administration and reconstructed into 1.0 mm transverse sequences.
Anatomy: There are 13 thoracic vertebrae with paired ribs and 7 lumbar vertebrae.
Spinal Cord/Meninges/Vertebrae/Discs: There is patchy, moth-eaten lysis of the vertebral body of L1, which is worse along the ventral and right ventrolateral margin with lysis of the
cortex along the ventral margin of the vertebral canal.
Associated with this lysis is an extradural, soft tissue attenuating mass effect that extends from just rostral to the left T13-L1 intervertebral foramen to the level of the L1-2
intervertebral disc space. This material shows moderate homogeneous enhancement post-contrast administration and occupies approximately 80% of the vertebral canal over the
cranial two-thirds of L1 within the left ventrolateral and ventral aspect of the canal, causing marked dorsal displacement and ventral, left ventrolateral compression of the cord.
There are patchy areas of a more coarse trabecular pattern within the body and arch of L2, the body of L3, the central body of L4, and the body of L5. The described coarse trabecular
pattern and loss of fine trabecular detail are replaced by fat-attenuating tissue, though has a similar but less severe appearance of lysis. Along the ventral margin of the canal through
L4, there is a small, ill-defined, lobulated, sessile area of soft tissue which shows moderate, patchy enhancement post-contrast administration. It is unclear whether this represents
additional extradural soft tissue proliferation or focal congestion of the venous plexus.
Musculature: No abnormalities
Intra-thoracic/Intra-abdominal: No abnormalities
Artifacts: None
Conclusion

  1. Aggressive, lytic lesion of the L1 vertebral body with associated extradural mass effect and marked spinal cord compression
  2. Probable additional, though less severe lytic lesions with L2-5
These lesions are consistent with neoplasia, with round cell neoplasia such as plasma cell tumour/multiple myeloma prioritized. If the areas of suspected early lysis in the other
vertebrae represent fat deposition rather than lysis, osteosarcoma would also be a reasonable differential for the L1 lesion.

Neurological examination:
Mentation: Bright, alert and responsive.
Gait & Posture: Non-ambulatory with marked paraparesis (worse in the left pelvic limb), characterized by very mild hip movements
noted in the pelvic limbs. Unable to stand up on her own; although was able to maintain in standing position after propped up. Voluntary
tail movement noted (tucks tail in).
Abnormal behaviour/Involuntary movement: None.
Cranial Nerves: Normal.
Postural Reactions: Absent proprioceptive positioning in the pelvic limbs; normal in the thoracic limbs.
Spinal Reflexes: Normal withdrawal, patellar and cutaneous trunci reflexes. Perineal reflex normal and strong on the right side; present
but noticeably weaker on the left side.
Muscle tone: Increased in the pelvic limbs; normal in the thoracic limbs.
Muscle atrophy: None.
Spinal palpation: Mild discomfort (whimpers) on thoracolumbar vertebral column palpation. Good cervical range of motion.
Nociception: Not assessed in the limbs due to presence of voluntary movement in all four limbs.
Assessment:
Hannah's neurological exam seemed to be static compared to yesterday, with no visible improvement despite steroid medication was
initiated yesterday. In addition, pain was noted on back palpation, and therefore pain medication (gabapentin) will be added to her
treatment plan. A gastroprotectant (pantoprazole) will also be added due to her receiving an NSAID (Metacam) on June 6th.
The following management options for Hannah were discussed with the owners:

  1. Surgical decompression - although this will allow for spinal cord decompression and a more accurate diagnosis as to which type of
neoplasia/cancer Hannah has, this will not treat the pre-existing lytic lesion within the bone. Temporary neurological improvement is
possible but not guaranteed, and there is a chance for further deterioration. In addition, recurrence/progression of the neoplasia is to be
expected in the future, as there is no cure unfortunately.
  2. Radiation therapy can be considered, although it's likely for palliative care purposes to mainly help reduce the pain and potentially
delay growth of tumor cells. Unfortunately this is also not a curative option.
  3. Palliative care with steroids. The goal of steroids is to help reduce any swelling or inflammation secondary to the tumor, but this also
    won't cure the tumor.
Alternatively, given the overall poor prognosis, non-ambulatory status and pain, humane euthanasia would also be a very reasonable
    option for Hannah.
    Plan:
The owners elected to visit Hannah around noon and proceed with humane euthanasia

Lost my dog

Over the span of one week, my dog got worse and worse and today we lost her. She was diagnosed with IVDD and she was getting worse… I had to take her to the hospital and we were preparing for her to have a surgery, a long rehab, and then live with us for many more years. and after CT, it was not IVDD. It was a tumor/cancer, in her spine, eating her bone. How I wish she had IVDD instead. But unfortunately we has to put her to sleep. I can not breathe. I can not move. I feel lost and dont know what to do. I am not sure if I can get through this. My heart hurts.

4 days in

My dog Hannah, an 8 year old toy poodle, was in a lot of pain and after a week of blood tests and xrays they diagnosed her with stage 1 IVDD.
She absolutely hates the crate but overall she isn’t panting and shivering or screaming randomly anymore. However when she is fully asleep from the Gabapentin she pees. So she is kinda covered in pee. I’m not sure how to clean her and prevent this? I put a pee pad under her in the crate but I dont think that’s that comfortable.
Another thing was, yesterday I let her out of the crate to sleep next to me for 5 mins, and she tried to shove her head under my hand as in “pet me” but she did a tiny cry,
And today when she was going in her crate she did a tiny cry. She also pants a lot but only when she is in her crate.
Is she still in pain? Are these bad signs? I have never been more scared in my life. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Reel Building

Hey everyone, I’m a 2D compositor who has worked in the industry for 8 years, I’ve also worked as a 3D compositor on a dream works show. The problem is most of my reel is 2D and the 3D show I worked on was mostly setting up templates or fixing mistakes that the project didn’t have the budget to fix (aka if there was a light that was supposed to be there, I’d roto it and add it in using Nuke. Or add fxs or UI screen projections) since then I have mostly worked on 3D shows but always merging 2D and 3D.
I am trying to apply for lighting and compositing jobs but my reel really doesn’t showcase that I know anything about the 3D world. I want to start lighting and comping scenes from start to finish (match to a design lighting key) but I get overwhelmed thinking about finding the reference, modelling and texturing everything, then lighting and compositing. Specially since I’m not great at modelling or texturing.
Do you guys have any recommendations on how I can approach this? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
