Rupert Grint is kinda miscast in this imho. His character really is unnecessary in this movie, because while it feels like they wanted to set up a whole "cultural differeces re: baby rearing" vibe between him and his finnish wife, that doesn't really work for me and I think having her be a single mom having to come to terms with this monstrous baby (and what its monstrousness means about herself) would have been more interesting without his bland face lurking around every corner.
Is the implication that the mother is >!a troll baby, too?!<If so, did they just force her to be a vegetarian for all her life and that defeated the urges and finally made her more "normal"?
Starring Caleb Landry Jones and Harry Melling, this piece was one of my favourite cinema watches last year, and I just really felt like rewatching it today for some reason!
It's honestly even more depressing than I remembered, but in a really breathtaking way.
Caught this for the first time this week and really loved it. Considering it's an adaption, and how exactly it goes about that, I understand why audience weren't a big fan, but personally, for me? I thought it had great vibes and a good enough story to pull you along.
My 60th was Ronja The Robber's Daughter (1984) and it was really sweet!
How is your cinema year going?
Highly recommend seeing this on the big screen if you can. It was breathtaking. The Y2K period was probably my favourite haha
Managed to catch some wild stuff on the big screen!
