What actually makes a room feel "off" to you — layout, color, or something else?

I've been reading through a bunch of design threads and noticed people complain about pretty specific things: furniture that's the wrong scale for the room, too much neutral/gray everywhere, awkward layouts, and rooms that just feel unfinished (no rug, no plants, bad lighting).

Curious — when you've redesigned a space, what was the hardest part to actually get right? Was it:

  • Picking furniture that actually fits your room's dimensions (not just looks good in a photo)
  • Getting the color/style to feel cohesive instead of generic
  • Figuring out layout/flow
  • Something else entirely?

Trying to understand what's genuinely hard vs. what's just annoying but manageable.

What's your biggest frustration when trying to redesign a room?

Hey everyone,

I keep running into the same issues whenever I want to redecorate or redesign a space:

  • I find inspiration on Pinterest, but have no idea where to actually buy similar furniture
  • Design apps show nice renders, but none of the items are real/purchasable
  • Even when I do find furniture I like, I'm never sure if it'll actually fit my room's dimensions until it's too late
  • Budgeting is a nightmare — hard to know what everything will cost together before committing

Anyone else deal with this? Curious if a tool that let you upload a photo (or dimensions) of your room, generate an AI redesign, AND only show you real furniture that's guaranteed to fit your actual space — with prices included — would that be useful to you? Or am I missing something obvious that already solves this?
