My friend and I are both into an artist, and live in different cities. The artist we like is touring right now, and when they came to my city they had an issue with merch and most of it didn’t arrive, so what they had at the show was very limited. My friend was going to see them in her city, so I asked if they would get me a specific item, a keychain, if they had them there. It was $10 and I told her I’d send her money for it. She also said she’d take a photo of the merch booth when she got there.

Day of the show, my friend messages me after not sending a photo or asking first that they didn’t have the keychain so she got me a shirt, that wasn’t even in my size. I didn’t ask for the shirt, already have the shirt in my size, and don’t want it in any way. Would I be the asshole if I didn’t pay her for the shirt? It was $40 and I can’t even wear it and didn’t want it or ask for it at all but also feel bad because she was just trying to be nice.
