Update: I have successfully reverse-engineered an LCD panel from a vehicle dashboard!

After extensive logic analysing I came to realise that the panel has a basic init sequence and some SPI's that had to be fulfilled, and once fulfilled it works almost perfectly! I have decided which pins are responsible for blue and green brightness, but have only gotten some red pins. This should take me some minimal time, and as mentioned previously, I will be making all info I have gathered open-source to who it may help. Sorry for the bad photos of the LCD so far, it's just a bit hard to orient it with so much wiring. I hope you all understand :)

"Hacked" a pre-CAN analogue cluster

This is a 1997-2005 Hilux cluster. Everything is in 12V signals, except for speedometer which is cranked directly from the transmission. For the 12V stuff, I used a breadboard and an ESP. It's pleasantly surprising how well the bulbs work for their age. This is just a fun disco mode I coded :)

How to control LCD independently

Hey everyone, this is an LCD from an Audi Q7 4M dashboard. I was wondering if it's possible to control it and put whatever I want on the screen. Thanks!

Is this salt or mould?

Only 3 days in, I've got airflow through a fan and roughly 50% humidity according to my humidifier (in standby mode).

Can I remove this piece without sacrificing the structural integrity?

Essentially, the title. I wanna fit a wider CRT in place of the current one, and to do that I'd have to remove this piece. The wider CRT has a small flat section on this roof, in which I could place a few bookshelves to hold up the rest of the shelves. On top I have 2 Lego builds, which are the primary forces. So in essence, my question is, would a CRT with a small flat roof section be able to hold up the rest of this shelf, or can it hold itself up by itself entirely. Thank you.

Mould even though sufficient airflow?

Hey guys. I live in Sydney near the coast, so it gets quite humid here. I recently had to bin a 700 gram batch, due to mould growing. I had a computer fan (9 cm diameter) running as an exhaust fan at about 1000 rpm. The exhaust hole was about 7x7 cm. Should I have made many holes instead? Anyway, I marinated it for 24 hours flipping halfway, and still mould grew on about the 3rd day. My room was probably around 70% humidity at that time. Is there any way to fix the mould? I've been considering brushing it with vinegar every day once to prevent mould. Thank you.

Is this a normal look?

Hey all, second time making biltong, and is this normal? I marinate it for 24 hrs (flip at 12), and then dry it for around 5 days. For context I live in Australia, and my room experiences ~70% humidity. Yes, the box has proper airflow. No there isn't a lamp in it. Is this mould?

Rate my setup

Any suggestions accepted, I wasn't really sure what to do for CP and turbo, so I made it the cruise control buttons :D

20% cool project (ignore my greeting)

yes I am aware of the loud and obnoxious warnings it has, I can't really do much about them no matter how hard I try, and yes I know that the speedometer drops to zero and doesn't go back, but I think this is still worth sharing. pay attention to the gears as well

CAN ID's for Audi Q7 Dashboard Warnings/Malfunctions

Hey all, I've been experiencing some trouble with my Audi Q7 Dashboard (it's not inside a car, I'm using an Arduino and MCP2515 to use it), and currently, most of the warnings are gone, but there's one annoying one left. Vehicle Lights: Malfunction. It pops up every 2 seconds, and has some chimes to it. Wondering if it's fixable throughout CAN ID's, and if so, does anyone know where I could find them. Thanks.

CAN values for steering wheel buttons?

Hey all, I'm trying to set up a 4M0 920 781 A dashboard and hook it up to my computer. So far it works good, but I just need to figure out the CAN values for the menu button on the steering wheel. I've gotten the left, right, up, and down controls, but not the menu button CAN value. Anyone know where I can find? Thank you

How to extract TMNF RPM and Speed values.

Hey everyone! I've been caught up with a little project, connecting a real life dashboard to my pc. So far, so good, I've got it hooked up and it works. However, I'd like to connect it to TMNF, or even TM2020. If anyone knows if it's possible (or how) to extract these values, I'd sincerely appreciate your input.

Attempting to hook up Audi Q7 Dashboard to my PC.

So far I've figured out the PSU on the left, and how I'll be actually sending over CAN signals from my pc to the dashboard. I aim to do this via the esp32, which will then send signals to a mcp2515, which should then somehow connect to the 30 pin port in the dashboard (the one on the right in my second picture.) What cable would I use to connect from the 30 pin port to a mcp2515? Thanks.
