This lake is cut between 5 cantons, uri, luzern, obwald, nidwald and schwytz. Why is it called "4" district lake when there are 5 ?

My question is fairly simple. After having studied for almost all my life, i finally graduated with a master's at the age of 29.

Given i'm almost 30 and other competitors with roughly the same experience as me are aged 22-24, how likely will me age be of disadvantage in looking for a junior position ?

Does it matter much in switzerland at what age you start your career ? Will people think i will be asking for more compensation given my age ?

Hiya all. I have been driving a motorcycle for about 3 years (approx 3000 kms, so not much).

The permit i am driving with is not recognised in switzerland, so i'll have to retake the exam.

Is it possible to take the exam without needing to take up additional driving lessons ?

Google won't give me precise answers on the topic, was thinking maybe a driving school could just add me to the list of people to take on the test, but I don't know if it's feasible

EDIT : thanks for all your advice ! It seems at least a couple of hours would at least be wise before thinking of taking up the exam. I'll look into driving lessons around where i'm at, or wait until i have enough money to fund the lessons.

Question is fairly simple : how do you land an entry-level job in switzerland ?

Finished my studies, did an end of study internship, went great, they didn't have budget to hire me full time, now it's been a year and i am now "too old and too experienced" to land an entry level job, but too inexperienced to get anything else than an internship.

I'm baffled as to what to do. Lowkey wanna start again with a CFC/EFZ while nearing my 30s... swiss girlfriend, family, friends, all tell me not to do it, but i'm now starting to believe it's the only thing left to try out.

How did y'all get your first job ? Was it easy ? Did all of you get hired full-time after your CFC/EFZ ?

Any recommendations on where to start in order to build up experience ?

Was curious about this. I recently logged dive #125. Hadn't dived in a year or so, so might be this, but i still definitely felt like a newbie, as if i just scratched the surface of all the possibilities the underwater world has to offer.

I am proud of that number. Reaching the 100s felt like a major milestone. But then again, it also feels like that's nothing at all, now.

PADI states one may become a PADI divemaster after having logged 50 dives. To me, this is wild : i'd have never thought of myself capable of handling the pressure of leading a group by my 50th dive. I wasn't even skilled enough in controlling my own breathing, let alone buoyancy !

Hence why i'm asking this : how many dives do you need to be considered an "experienced" diver ? How many did you need before you felt like you had become a true dive "master" ?

I know this might be very subjective, especially depending on whom one might compare oneself to, but given this is a sub full of scuba divers, maybe we might find common ground.

Yesterday, i went for a hike in the french alps. It was a challenging hike for me, 7.5 kms, 600 meters uphill, took us about 5 hours to complete.

After having climbed for 2 hours+ and being absolutely dead physically, my friend and I reached the summit, to be greated by an outstanding view. Damn that was worth it. We picknicked up there and stayed half an hour or so. At one moment, i thought i'd open pokemon go and nominate that christian cross, which was planted at the summit, as a new pokestop.

Low and behold, the pokestop already existed. In fact, it was a gym. Inside, ONE pokemon, from team red.

Poor lad was stuck there for 213 days. Kicked him out, felt as if i should release him.

I felt bad for the guy. He hiked, as myself and my friend, for 2+ hours uphill, got his pokemon there for 213 days, and... he's gotten 50 gold pieces.

That's it. No more, no less. Even worse, had he gotten his 50 of the day already, he'd get his pokemon back empty handed.

Shame.

If you read this, at least you enjoyed the view, the hike, the stories, and hopefully you got 50 coins out of your pokemon. It has come back now, feel free to put it back in another gym for even longer. You're welcome
