Basically I think if I was born 2000 years ago I would have been outcast/exiled from my community due to my social deficits, and back then that was pretty much a death sentence.
People always assume the worst of me, even when I'm quiet, and people always end up turning against me due to quick judgements. I know this is because we are a social species, and need to weed out dangerous people to survive, but it really seems to disproportionately affect non-dangerous autistic people? If this happened 2000 years ago, I can see myself being exiled from my community to fend for myself in the forest lol.
Anyone know how autism survived despite this?
edit: the criteria for autism states that social deficits must be present at some point in life, so please don't reply if you're going to just say how much of a failure I am for people not liking me.
