Anyone here remember the tf2 player yomps?

It's been 6 years since he passed away. One of the best and most prodigious players to ever touch this game. And a great kind person as well. He died in July 17th 2020 at age 20. Just wanted to post something because I rarely see people still talking about him.

His streams were really fun too:

A clip from his stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol2FUpra9PU

Is there a distinction between raga bhavam and bhavam?

For example madurai somu I think has a lot of bhavam in his singing, while someone like tmk also sings with bhavam but it seems to be of a different kind.

What exactly is raga bhavam, is this something more evident in the alapana and is removed from the words and their meaning? The texture of how a raga is sung (specific modulation, phrasings)?

Other singers with a lot of bhavam obviously md ramanathan, musiri subramanian etc. How would you specifically categorise their bhavam?

Why was older generation of musicians obsessed with Tyagaraja?

Feel like there was an extra emphasis on Tyagaraja, why? Because he had more students, or because he was more relatable?

Obviously Tyagaraja had great compositions but if any one in trinity was ahead I would think it'd be Dikshitar.

Are there any popular Hindustani singers who sing/sang Carnatic with fidelity?

I've heard a few hindustani singers, like Kaushiki Chakraborty, sing carnatic composition but they sing in hindustani style. Would like to know if there any famous hindustani musicians who sang carnatic music in the proper style?

Not really talking about South Indian musicians who sing both styles.

Here is an example of what I'm looking for, Mukul Shivputra singing a carnatic ragamalika: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YToBGF8zunw

Side note: This is an another interesting video of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan singing 'Rama Nee Samanamevaru', though in a hindustani style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuUyLQpE22g

Best living Indian vocalist in either style?

Who do you guys think is the best Indian vocalist regardless of Hindustani or Carnatic. I mean best vocalist living and at least performing to some degree.

Some popular names in south and north: Kaushiki Chakraborty, Rahul Deshpande, Venkatesh Kumar, Tm Krishna, RaGa sisters etc.

Gender Disparity in Listening to Vocal Artists

I've noticed I mainly listen to men when it comes to carnatic music, even though for other styles (hindustani, western etc.) its split 50/50.

I'm curious whether other people have a gender disparity in the artists they listen to?

Would also like some recommendations for female singers, outside of famous ones like MSS, DKP, RaGa etc.

I would recommend Amrutha Venkatesh and Parassala B. Ponnammal as perhaps underrated female singers.

How do you feel about high pitch in female singers?

This isn't really that much the case in carnatic music, but the pitch of female singers is so high in film music, it's especially noticeable when you hear someone like Shreya Ghoshal or K.S. Chitra sing a classical song vs a film song. People seem to think that this sounds "sweet" and many people like this higher pitch sing.

Do you think these kind of voices will become popular in carnatic music, because I've talked to a few people who actually want more of this "sweet" singing in carnatic music.

Also curious why this high-pitch singing has been consistent throughout India, when I thought it was more a bollywood invention, whereas in Pakistan film/tv music, there seems to be diversity of vocal range and timbres. Even punjab, their singing is high-pitch male and female but the timbre of the voice is not so thin but rather heavy.
