I140 approved.

My i140 has approved and now I’m left with 1 year of academic training on J1. Would it be possible if i apply for j1 waiver and get it within 6 months and use EAD obtained after i485 to seek a job? Im confused as some posts mention not using EAD obtained through i485 for jobs. How long can you stay on EAD through pending i485 and why is it not safe to travel on i131 when the purpose of that form is to be able to travel internationally?

Please don’t mind my noob questions and i’ll be grateful for the detailed answers.

Exploitation of Pakistanis living abroad

Its just a rant please bear with me.

Im a Pakistani PhD student in the US currently living with my family and will be moving back to Pakistan after graduation. I have my 10 year old son who moved here with me and never had formal Urdu education. Now that we are moving back in 2 months, i decided to enroll him to an online tuition for basic urdu lessons like phonics and words formation etc. no matter how many people ive talked to their rates take a hike as soon as they find out im in the US. They first quote me around 8k to 10k PKR but as soon as they see my number on whatsapp or i give them his background, their tuitions are suddenly different for myriad of reasons. I don’t mind paying them a bit more than what they get in Pakistan tbh but i want to see their efforts match their rates. One lady quoted me $95 per class for 4 classes a week. One academy quoted me $400 per month. Like seriously?? And in almost all the demos, literally no one used a laptop for teaching. No interactive tools whatsoever but just played youtube videos and some even had their cameras turned off. You could clearly tell they are not expert in this subject or have to quality of teaching. It reminded me when i visited Pakistan the one and only time during my studies and a lady at the parlour charged me 45k pkr for a simple effing layered haircut.

Pakistanis are supposedly very generous with white skinned but to their own people they are exploitative to the point of being abusive!

To anyone who would say i can teach him myself, i definitely can and would like to but my work, dissertation and a toddler in the mix has made my situation and time pretty complicated. I am only praying now k koi Allah ka banda mil jaye bas.
