Li-ning Yushuai 20 Initial impressions - G-BOOM??

Hey! This will be my initial review on the Li-ning Yushuai 20. Ive only played in them for around 6 hours on a rubber court and a concrete court that is semi dusty

Traction 7.5/10 (might improve with time)

-GCU on these are not as good as the ones on the Jb4 or Wow 11. Maybe because of the traction pattern on these or whether it’s a different formulation I also don’t know why. Ive noticed the recent batches of GCU on the Jb4 and the Yushuai 20 don’t squeak anymore (for those who are wondering). It grips decently, similar to the 808 5 ultra v2.
- My guess on why there are traction issues is because of the traction pattern as it’s made of a-lot of “+” signs which have a lower surface area.
-This shoe is made up of GCU and an unnamed rubber compound on the top lateral side of the shoe making up part of the lateral flange. Im guessing its Tuff rubber though as it is much harder than the GCU which makes up the rest of the outsole
- One thing I am worried about though is dirt/dust getting accumulated in the gaps within the outsole.

Cushion 10/10

-Very responsive setup. The midsole is caged (almost) entirely by the GCU which comes up the side of the shoe. I find it helps the foam with its responsiveness as it takes less time for the foam to “rebound” per se. The Foam/midsole setup is very resilient. Part of the foam is exposed on the bottom.
- The shoe is quite bouncy, on par with the WOW 11s and JB4
-Court feel is decent. Feels higher off the ground compared to WOW 11s
-BOTTOM HEAVY

Upper 8/10

Textile upper interwoven with fibres, decent breathability
-More on the flexible side but stiffer compared to the Joker 1 GT Capybara colorway
-Similarly, both the 808 5 ultra V2 and the Yushuai 20 have a very minimal tongue with zero padding.
-Laces are flat and quite short.
-Achilles padding is nice.

Overall Durability- will have to see

Ill post an updated review after playing in them more

Sizing

I went up half a size on these and they fit really well. I think going TTS would be too snug.

Tech Spec

They say this shoe uses G-BOOM which basically means they fuse the Outsole, Midsole and Full length Fibre plate without using glue. Hopefully this does increase its long term durability. Like i said above, will make an updated review in the future.

Overall: 8/10

Overall a really nice shoe.

-It’s not so good for shifty guards because it’s better suited for running straight and back rather than lateral movement.

-Shoe feels bottom heavy

-Traction is not as good as other shoes with GCU

- My guess is over time, the traction becomes better as the “+” symbols on the outsole wear down

_
My current ranking would be WOW 11, JB4, Yushuai 20, Joker 1 GT for Top 4.
Anyways, thank you for reading! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

With the changes to attribute swapping how will current gamemodes change?

If this change were to be permanently added, how would current gamemodes change.

So for example Spear Mace, would people be using wooden spears for faster lunge cooldown?

Mace gamemodes with Breach Maces won’t be as useful because you can’t breach swap?

Thanks

Did attribute swapping actually get removed

Theres no way right? Alot of gamemodes won’t work as well anymore. Spear lunging. Spear mace holyy

Heya! This is my review on the 361 Joker 1 GT “Capybara” colorway. FYI: I play on both rubber and concrete courts. Sorry for taking so long to make this review!

~Traction 10/10
No complaints here. Similar to Lining’s GCU compound, the traction is stop on a dime. It doesn’t attract dust even on my really dusty concrete court. GCU and RPU’s traction performance is really top of the line from what I have tried so far.
_

~Cushion 7/10
Now the cushion is the interesting part. The foam “CQTEXTREM3” is soft and the main contributor to the “bounce” in the shoe. Unlike BOOM foam which is stiffer and responsive, I personally think the foam on the joker is too soft and mushy. I dunno how to feel because on one hand, the bounce and impact protection is good but your feet kinda sinks into the foam. Maybe Im just not used to it yet.

The carbon fiber in this shoe is mainly used as structural support for torsional and lateral rigidity rather than bounce like the Way of wade 10,11,12. Etc. Works rather like the anta kai 1s. Pretty good

~Upper & lockdown 9/10 (-1 mostly because of lace setup)
The upper on this pair is made of this suede leathery material. I thought it would trap more heat but surprisingly the shoe is able to dissipate heat well.

The way these lockdown are a-bit weird though. The way they are set up, you can’t really pull down on the laces hard because they just get stuck. I did switch the lacing system so it goes from the inner lace hole to the outer lace hole compared to what they initially set up. You can see how I laced them up in slide 7. Still, the high ankle collar on this pair helps contain the foot pretty well. This shoe broke in really fast for me and the upper being more flexible helped a lot

The tongue, ankle and achilles padding of the shoe is nice and comfortable

Another thing is that being a high top, this shoe is pretty hard to put on but is expected

_
~Overall durability 8/10 (benefit of doubt)

No problems with the upper so far. I’ve seen other posts on here about the outsole cracking and the Joker SE (summer edition) having separation issues but my pair was fine. If i had to say something negative about this pair, I think the foam will bottom out faster than other shoes.
The only part on the outsole that is starting to wear out is right at the front of the shoe where you would pivot and the medial side. Maybe it’s my footwork that is causing this issue because it’s on both of the shoes. I have attached a photo on slides 4,5 and 6

_
~Other things I want to mention

Side to side stability is great. The lateral flange here works really well.

I like that the outsole comes up the side of the shoe, really nice for shifty players

Fit: TTS

Feel free to ask any questions! Again, sorry for the late review.

While not technically a basketball shoe, I think these shoes are most notable in this sub just because of the amount of people who buy Lining basketball shoes here. I know alot of people who don’t like the looks of these tho 😅
FYI: I have worn these for around a month now

Traction: 6/10
On rougher “road” surfaces these have great traction but on indoor shopping mall floors they really don’t grip that well.

Cushion 9/10
The drop in midsole is really comfortable. Its not too soft and maintains its structure really well. Not much to say here

Upper and Durability 9/10
Surprisingly the upper is pretty durable. Its made of this foam rubbery material that acts as both the upper and outsole. So far theres not much wear on the outsole

Other things I want to mention:
The stability here could be better. The slide is rounded off on the sides and can become a little unstable at times near the heel.

Every once in a while I had to remove the drop in to clean the shoe because things just get stuck under.

You should wear socks with this because the upper can rub against your foot causing blisters especially the ankle and achilles area.

Overall a decent slide, 7/10 really comfortable despite its look.

Feel free to ask any questions!
