Bought this from a bootsale for £5, its A1104, I was born in 2005 so this is older than me. it has a huge dent on the corner so im worried it has screen damage but it all looks in good condition. Will apple stores maybe keep these power cables just in case a random customer comes in? are there any cheap connectors i can get or something. Highly inconvenient that they didnt have usb c back then😂😂😂. Also any further info would be good, is this a good deal? i will open it further and send more updates if you guys are interested.

So i got this bargain mac and Im gonna "risk it". The screen bleed isnt as bad as i thought it wouldve been after a month. But yh, performance compared to my 16gb macbook air i5 is day and night, i wish i waited those extra 2 monthes and got this one because its absolutely phenomenal. but yh I cant dwell on the past. I got what i wanted and hopefully the performance is insane now. i havent closed it yet so hopefully it fits😂😂. The pads were only like £2 but they seem pretty high quality, and for a second hand macbook its sooo clean inside, I probably couldve upgraded the battery while im here but honestly even at 80% battery health its LEAGUEEESS above my i5 model, like its insane. 20% battery lasts the whole day if i need to, it just doesnt make sense to me.

I know im late, but its all ive ever wanted. I rushed and got a macbook air i5 16gb ram in 2020 august literally knowing that m1 was coming but i still got it cos i was an impatient 14yr old. now i finally got a second hand M1 16gb ram model for only £140, i saw it was damaged slightly in the screen but it doesnt bother me, as theres no sign of the ram crisis getting better, i thougjt i should just take the shot. keep in mind the bit has spread quite a bit now, so its a bit more noticeable but still doesnt bother me. might just use it as a portable mac mini in the future. or get the screen fixed for like £100. still a bargain.

Ok firstly, switching the battery on this was a pain in the ass. its a W-756 and you need a pin and u need to wiggle a small hidden latch to open it. But yh, the main problem im having is that the functions are switched? Why does the light turn on when i press reset and not when i press light?

I got the new LCD but the metal frame is stuck inside. how am i meant to get it out, or am i screwed. I really messed this repair up im so disappointed in myself. Im using a mixture of light heat and IPA to get it out. i literally just need to take the frame out n connect the new ribbon cables in.

Product red, it came with a charger. the battery works great and i checked on apples website, its one of the later 2014 models so it holds a solid charge. Idk what to do tho, my jellyfin server is so good for music but i just love this design and offlineness. The guy was selling a 5th gen aswell but another guy bought it literally 5 seconds before i got there. Do i sell for £30 and make a quick buck or do i keep it?

I lowkey wanna replace the screen and battery and add a solar panel or something onto the back.

I bought today but i cant find it anywhere online. is it real?
